Russell Brand In Hampstead, Estate of the Day

russell brandBritish comedian and actor Russell Brand has been in the news a bit lately. He's been increasing his profile in the United States with more acting roles (he's set to take on the Dudley Moore role in the remake of Arthur) and with his romance with Katy Perry. Perhaps Brand is considering a permanent move to the U.S. because the BrickWork blog reports that Brand's home in the Hampstead area of London is on the market.

The Victorian home has been renovated in a hiply goth style that reminds me of the vintagey creations of Douglas Little. The home has five levels and features dark flocked wallpaper, large televisions and modern furniture. An entire room is given over to Brand's love of yoga and the plush black and silver master bedroom is exactly what you might from this self-confessed sex addict. The home also includes a media room, outdoor hot tub and a top floor bedroom suite which currently serves as an office. It is listed at £2.5 million.

A Billionaire's Unique Real Estate Selling Strategy

It's hard not to be a little envious of Alki David not only is he an actor and producer with roles in films like "The Bank Job" but he is also a billionaire heir to a shipping and bottling plant fortune. David, who has homes in Greece and Switzerland as well as several homes in England is looking to sell his Hampstead home. He and his wife are separating and in the Daily Mail he describes the seven-bedroom home, which he bought last year for £12.5 million, as "a mistake." As soon as the divorce is final the house will be sold. But his method of selling is a bit different, he plans to offer three agents two months to sell the house. The winner takes home a fixed commission, if it doesn't sell, he'll rent it out. A move from a man who clearly doesn't need the immediate influx of cash.

He will move into his £4 million property which has received an £800,000 renovation. Meanwhile, he is living in a two-bedroom flat in Knightsbridge bought two years ago for £1.8million which will give his soon-to-be ex-wife. He plans to expand his latest venture, online media company FilmOn, into the U.S. and is ready to capitalize on the lower prices in Los Angeles and pick up a new mansion there. But for tax purposes his main residence is Cyprus. He also owns a record label, modeling agency and founded the not-for-profit organization, BIOS which works on marine conservation in Greece.

Diamond Billionaire's Posh London Home

A few weeks ago, I mentioned that diamond billionaire Lev Leviev was switching his main residence to London. It looks like he's found a place to call home sweet home and it just happens to be the most expensive new property ever sold in Britain. Leviev's new house in Hampstead, North-West London cost him £35million. The house will be home to Leviev, his wife Olga and two of his nine children. The home's luxurious features include a cinema, a nightclub, hair salon, an armor-plated front door and an indoor pool that turns into a ballroom with the touch of a button. The house was designed by architect William Bertram of Bath and was originally built for property developer Mansour Namaki, who decided to move to Regent's Park instead. The Telegraph has more pictures of the home including the indoor pool and a £750,000 stone staircase.
