Gossip Girl Engagement Ring

Gossip Girl features Harry Winston engagement ring in final episode
In the season finale of CW's Gossip Girl, billionaire Chuck Bass (played by Ed Westwick) pleads with his attackers to let him keep an eye-popping engagement ring, presumably one that he is planning to give to Blair Waldorf (played by Leighton Meester). The attackers take the ring anyway, and shoot Bass, leaving him to bleed to death in an alleyway somewhere in Europe.

Bass has excellent taste. The cushion cut diamond in a tapered baguette setting was designed by Harry Winston. The signature cut is classic Winston---and it embodies timeless elegance.

The ring, as seen above, is 8 carats in size and set in platinum. It is available for purchase at the Harry Winston store on Fifth Avenue in New York. The price is available upon request.

Gossip Girl's Chuck Bass holds diamond engagement ring intended for Blair Waldorf.

Carla Reiter's Gossip Girl Necklace

carla reiter necklaceFor the past couple of years the "Gossip Girl" television show has been setting trends. The season finale features an interesting statement necklace on Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively). The necklace, designed by Carla Reiter, is made of knitted and oxidized silver with diamond accents and raisins dipped in copper. I had to ask the PR person to make sure, real raisins? Yes, the piece does feature real raisins rendered into interesting copper pendants. This one-of-a-kind piece sells for $5,800.

Carla Reiter's jewelry is earthy with a crafty touch. All of her knitted silver, gold, and copper jewelry is made one piece at a time in her small studio. Each piece in Carla's limited-production and one-of-a-kind collection is made with a woman's body in mind. The knotted and wrought shapes are meant to work with the curves of the body, gaining life in the wearing.

Decorati: High-End Design Online

Decorati is the online home to finds like hand-crafted pieces from Cliff Young or Tucker Robbins's side table ($660, above), which was recently featured in a scene on Gossip Girl. The aim of the site is to replace the staggering piles of design catalogs lying around and keep inspiration flowing once the showrooms have closed for the day.

Founder and interior designer Shane Reilly launched the site when she was shuttling between coasts working on multiple projects and wishing she could shop the showrooms after hours.

The best part of the site? Sample sales.

Gossip Girl in Upper Brookville, Estate of the Day

If you want to sell a this house attractive, why not also make a little money using it in film shoots? Today's home in Upper Brookville,NY was recently used in two episodes of the trendy television show "Gossip Girl" but has a scandalous past all its own. It will be showcased in the upcoming season which will include scenes from a "white party." The home has also been used in a Kohl's commercial and Ludacris filmed an AT &T commercial in June. The home is certainly party ready with a foyer with dual wraparound staircases perfect for dramatic descents, a 65-foot ballroom, a gym and a saltwater swimming pool that sits in a greenhouse-like glass enclosure. The five-bedroom home is on five acres which back up to an arboretum.

This estate may also be familiar to long-time readers of this column, in fact it was an estate of the day in 2007. That's when the home was seized as part of "Operation VIN City," an 18-month investigation that busted up the largest stolen car ring on the East Coast. It was the home of ringleader Michael Pescatore and was sold at auction by the Treasury Department on March 22. Real estate agent Kim Greenberg and her fiancé, real estate developer, Fred Rudd picked up the home for $8.3 million which is pretty close to what two sharp commenters guessed it would go for in my 2007 post.. Now it's all prettied up and on the market for $12.9 million.

33-pound Swarvoski encrusted Christian Dior gown

The always charming Blake Lively from the hit series Gossip Girl had her work cut out for her at a recent Vanity Fair photo shoot. Her day included prancing around in a 33-pound Christian Dior gown! The yellow satin gown dazzled with Swarovski crystals detailing, 6,000 sequins (I counted), and detailed hand stitching. Lively, always a star, rose to the occasion and truly owned the dress, the photos are effortless and pretty. I wonder how much a gown like that would cost, any guesses?
