Innisbrook Resort Creates $40,000 40-Night Package

Innisbrook, a Salamander Golf & Spa Resort in Florida is celebrating its 40th birthday this year with a 40 day and 40 night $40,000 package. The resort turned 40 this month and the package will be valid through December 10, 2011.

The package features:
40 meals for two that can be used at any Innisbrook's four restaurants
40 rounds of golf
40 spa treatments
40 days of bicycle rental
40 days of fitness classes
40 days of tennis court access.
40-strong movie library featuring the Academy Award winner for best picture from each of the past 40 years.

Taxes are not included, and meals and spa treatments do not include gratuity. Any unused package elements are non-refundable and non-transferable. Innisbrook is on 900 acres of hills that includes 70 acres of lakes in the St. Petersburg/Clearwater area on Florida's gulf coast. Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club is located just 25 minutes from Tampa International Airport. The resort has 72 holes of championship golf, 608 guest suites and rooms, four restaurants and three bars, the Innisbrook Golf Institute, 11 tennis courts, the full-service Indaba Spa with 12 treatment rooms and fitness center, six heated swimming pool complexes, a nature preserve, and three conference halls. Kingsmill Resort Sold

The Kingsmill golf resort in Virginia has a new owner. The Virginia Gazette reports that Xanterra Parks & Resorts, a Denver-based company that also operates Grand Canyon Railway Central and Williams Depot in Arizona, has bought Kingsmill Resort & Spa. Xanterra manages resorts, restaurants, tours and other concessions in national parks, state parks and other locations around the country. Kingsmill is a popular resort in Virginia and has 422 rooms, six restaurants, a spa, marina, and 15-court tennis center. Kingsmill is most famous for its golf with courses designed by Pete Dye, Arnold Palmer, Tom Clark and two-time U.S. Open champion Curtis Strange.

"Kingsmill is one of the country's premier resorts, and we are very excited to acquire such a high-caliber resort that complements our existing portfolio of properties and is consistent with the expansion of our company," said Xanterra President Andrew Todd in a press release. "We are very excited about the future of the resort and the community." The sale is expected to be completed in August with Xanterra assuming ownership and management of the resort immediately after closing. No word on how much they paid.
