Cobble Court, Estate of the Day

Cobble Court is one of the great Gilded Age mansions in Glen Cove, New York. Built in 1928 for Louis and Kate Luckenbach, the expansive brick chateau has been renovated to reflect the utmost in luxury without losing the type of ornate and breathtaking luxury that these estates are famous for. The seven-bedroom home has views of a private lake and Long Island Sound. Amazing woodwork, ornate tapestries, glittering chandeliers, historic wall treatments and fireplace of rare woods and stones, this home would cost a fortune to build today. The grounds of the home also include two cottages and a greenhouse. Like many of the castles and manor houses in Europe, the expense is more than just the list price, it is the cost of maintenance and taxes (over six figures). It is listed at $17.5 million. After the jump, one of the best four-poster beds I have ever seen.
