A New Look For Hearts and Flowers

The stylized heart that festoons Valentine's Day cards bears little resemblance to the truth beating inside your chest. Esque has created a new glass vase that strips away the illusion. It's pretty, it's just a different kind of pretty than what you are used to. The vase, which is designed and produced in oregon by justin parker and andi kovel, is part of a limited edition of 200 numbered and signed vases and sells for $450. It's striking but I wonder what sort of flowers could work in a vase like this.

Caleb Siemon Barrel Vase

Glass blowing is a centuries old art form that continues to evolve in the hands of modern artists. Artist Caleb Simeon draws on his training with a Venetian master sculptor and traditional Italian glass blowing techniques to create highly collectible, beautiful works of art. In his gently curved Barrel Vase, the rich bands of colors appear to be slowly melting into one another. The result is a striking piece that feels moody and mysterious, despite the bright hues. $870.
