Twosome on the Singletrack: His & Her World's Finest Mountain Bike

Filed under: Apparel, Shoes, Sports, Men's Style

It's all downhill from here and that's just the way we like it...a twosome cruisin' down the singletrack on GIANT's luxury-grade off-road bicycles. How do two busybodies make time for romance and fitness without enduring such bugaboos as Gym Monotony and Weekly Yoga Class Fatigue? To commingle amour, high-tech exercise, and the autumnal outdoors, make room in the garage for a spry couplet: love should be robust, but waistlines should be slim, get a mountain bike for her and another one for him.

The Giro d'Italia is Underway, and Dolce & Gabbana are there!

Lance Armstrong and Danilo Di Luca in The Giro, May 15, 2009
Dolce & Gabbana has teamed up with "Il Giro d'Italia" (the Tour of Italy), also known as The Giro, to celebrate its 100th anniversary!

The Giro, for the uninitiated, is a world famous bicycle race which goes from Venice to Rome. This year's race has already begun, and will finish on May 31st.

So what does Dolce & Gabbana have to do with this? For this very exciting and historic year, they have redesigned The Giro's most important symbol: the maglia rosa ("pink jersey"). The maglia rosa (above on Italy's Danilo Di Luca, taken May 15th) is a pink shirt worn each day by the cyclist who had the fastest time the previous day. It's like what the maillot jaune (yellow jersey) is to the Tour de France. And who's that he's patting on the back? None other than Lance Armstrong! Sorry, Lance! We hope we'll see you in pink this week!

On Saturday, May 9th, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana were present in Venice to personally hand the new maglia rosa to the first winner. You can see them with the jersey in Milan in our gallery below.

Giro Omen Helmet

A while back, no one wore a helmet to ride a bike or play hockey. But we've all gotten a bit smarter about protecting our noggins and now skiers and snowboarders are starting to wear helmets. Giro, a company which makes excellent bike helmets, also makes great snow helmets. The Giro Omen is a light helmet with an ergonomic fit and vents which can be closed or opened to help regulate your temperature. The helmet also accommodates TuneUps, Giro's system for wireless audio that lets you zoom around with your music and control your sound without fumbling through your clothes to find your iPod. Kevin Kennedy over at Outside recently gave the Giro Omen a thorough workout and offers a great review of the product. With the Tuneups system the helmet sells for around $370 or is around $200 without.
