Platinum Car Replica On Display In Hong Kong

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos

It's cheaper than the most expensive Matchbox car but the platinum one-of-a-kind replica of the 1970 Nissan Fairlady Z432 is still a pricey toy. Japanese jeweler specializing in lavish statement pieces, Ginza Tanaka has created the replica which is being displayed at the Hong Kong International Jewelry Show this month. It's not for sale but it has an estimated value of $80,000. As Autoblog reports, Nissan only built 420 of these Z432s from 1969 to 1973, so an actual Z432 might be worth more than this precious metal version. It is being shown with a matching platinum box.

$1.9 Million Handbag Goes Up for Sale

I can't believe that a handbag made of platinum, over 2,000 diamonds, and valued at almost $2 million doesn't have a name other than "diamond and platinum handbag." We first mentioned this beauty of a bag about a year ago when it was on display in Tokyo and now it seems it will be making it's way around London in honor of London Jewelry Week.

Designed by Ginza Tanaka, the bag features a diamond shoulder strap that can be removed and worn as a necklace, plus the large (8ct) pear-shaped diamond decorating the front of the bag can be removed and worn as a brooch.

The bag is available for sale but due to security concerns the locations where it will appear will not be given to the public ahead of time -- I guess it's just a lucky "right place at the right time" kind of guessing situation if you want to see it!

The $1.63 Million Diamond and Platinum Handbag

So it's one thing to spend hundreds on a designer handbag that's sure to go out of style in a season or two, but millions? This diamond studded platinum handbag was on display recently in Tokyo by jewelry maker GinzaTanaka, and it looks like something Cinderella could have carried to the ball to coordinate with her beautiful glass slippers. Valued at approximately $1.63 million dollars, it boasts 2,182 diamonds totaling 208 carats and a fairly simple and understated style considering its over-the-top price tag. With this in hand all you need is a diamond tiara and you're ready to party!

$120,000 Foot Massager

Ginza Tanaka Jewelers in Japan really has a thing for making outrageously expensive gold versions of seemingly ordinary items, including a golden rocking horse and gold calendars, among many other items. This time, they have come out with a $120,000 foot massager made of solid gold. The massager resembles a bamboo joint and you use it simply by standing on it and letting your feet conform to its slope. At that price, you would think that the massager would actively massage your feet and not make you do the work! For anyone else balking at the price of the gold version, Tanaka also makes a $5,000 silver massager.
