THANKS by Allan McCollum

It can be difficult to think of the perfect way to say 'thank you' to someone, but how about giving them something physical that will always remind them how grateful you are? The THANKS tablet by Allan McCollum is made of solid resin, measures 3.75"L x 1.25"W x 1"H, and carries the word THANKS in bold lettering. Based on the notion that art gains significance not by its creation or display, but by its exchange between people, giving this tablet is a classy, unique, and lasting way to let everyone from family to strangers know how you feel.

Lizzie Scheck Spinner "I Love You" Necklace

A heart is an easy enough piece for Valentine's Day but how about this spinner necklace from one our favorite jewelry designers, Lizzie Scheck, The simple gold disk has a collection of seemingly random letters on the front and back which spell out "I Love You" when it is spun. Scheck also does the more traditional diamond heart, or a pair of golden handcuffs if you are feeling particularly racy. The spinner necklace sells for $435. Cute but how often are you going to have people squinting at your chest asking why you are wearing vowels around your neck?

Tea On The Go Package

I love ordering tea in a restaurant when they bring over the wooden box full of many selections. You can get a bit of this experience on the fly with this cute tea kit. It was designed for Leaf, the London tea shop by Parisian designers les Petites Emplettes. There were 500 of these limited edition tea travel kits made and only 25 in London. The kit has six mini tins that hold a one or two cups worth of tea and there are also paper filters all wrapped up in a felt bag. The kit sells for $95 from Hello Delicious, a new online boutique that specializes in gourmet delights.

Playsam Rocking Horse

If you're not going to splurge on a solid gold rocking horse for the kids this year, a more affordable alternative would be the Playsam Rocking Horse. The Scandinavian-designed horse is wood, but is finished in a satiny black lacquer that will make any child think that s/he has just gotten her own little Black Beauty. It's aimed at ages 1-5 and measures 33.5" x 13.5". The only downside is that your child might want to get a "real" pony at some point after this - which is significantly more expensive than a wooden one. Price: $225.

Ashton's Christmas Gift to Demi

We mentioned the Peter Beard Limited Edition Art Book a while ago, but with only 2,250 books available, we assumed that they would sell out to collectors quietly. This was definitely not the case, as the gossip magazines/blogs are reporting that Ashton Kucher just picked one up this week as a Christmas gift for Demi Moore. He bought it at Barney's in Beverly Hills for $2,500. The book has over 500 pages of photographs and diary entries from Beard and each copy has been signed by Beard himself. A stand is included with purchase so that the book can be showcased more elegantly than the average coffee table book.

Luxist Holiday Guide: Pampered Pets

The holidays are the perfect excuse to buy things for your pet. Granted, they might be just as satisfied with a wadded up ball of wrapping paper, but that doesn't mean that they don't deserve something better. Here are some of our favorite luxe gifts to give your pampered pet this holiday season.

Patch and Scott Dog Coats are our favorite brand of pet outwear this year. Stylish, warm and well-fitted - what more could a fashion-forward pet want? £149.

Luxe Toys for Rich Kids

CNN Money notes that regular toys just aren't good enough for some kids anymore - especially the children of the very, very wealthy, who tend to buy children's versions of some of the same indulgent things that they treat themselves to. For example, they might buy a summer house for themselves and a fantastically imaginative Daniels Wood Land Tree House for the kids. Other picks on the list include a life-sized replica of Robbie the Robot from the Forbidden Planet for $50,000, a gas-powered miniature off-road vehicle for two, and a $47,000 version of the Cinderella Coach - horses/mice not included - for a little girl's bedroom.

$1.5M Le Chocolate Box

Not to sound too stereotypical, but for many women, the top two gifts that they would most like this holiday season are jewelry and chocolate. Simons Jewelers has put the two together to make the ultimate gift with their Le Chocolate collection. The jewelry includes necklaces, earrings, rings and bracelets adorned with yellow and blue diamonds, emeralds, and sapphires. Shu Uemura's Holiday Lip Kit

We love Shu Uemura's luxe eyelashes, but it is the flair with which the designer approaches them that really appeals to us, not necessarily the lashes themselves. That same spirit of fun and drama was applied to Shu Uemura's Holiday Lip Kit. It's a Neiman Marcus exclusive and includes a Rouge Unlimited Lipstick in brown, a New Drawing Lip Liner in wine and a sexy, sweet lip gloss in cherry. Everything is packed in a red patent leather lip-shaped case that is equal parts Marilyn and Rocky and makes a great little gift. The set is only $65.

Designer Book Set

This designer book set could be a great gift for the fashionista in your life - because we all know that when someone loves clothes more than just about anything, it's nearly impossible to pick out anything that they actually like. The set should be a hit because it contains "photographic biographies" of some of the most famous and most exciting names in fashion: Dior, Vivier, Balenciaga and Treacy. The books are in full, brilliant color and each is hand-wrapped, as well as being packed into a large red gift box. Price: $150.

Tiny Tiara

A Tiny Tiara is the sort of thing that would make a cute gift for parents with a new baby girl, since most of them will be overjoyed to get a perfect little crown for their little princess. The miniature crowns, designed by Shelly Kennedy, are made of glass and are completely unique. Each stands about 3-inches tall and comes on a satin pillow packed inside an acrylic cube that will protect it from damage and dust. The tiaras come in three colors - blue, pink and clear - and are $48 each.

Absolut Bling Bling

To sell more of your product during the holidays, it's a good idea to bring out a limited edition version of it. It's an even better idea to add some bling and make sure it appeals to luxury buyers who are more likely to splurge on extra-fancy packaging at this time of year. Absolut Bling Bling is a limited edition repackaging of some classic Absolut vodka and is being sold in a gift pack as of the beginning of this month. Unfortunately for most US buyers, Absolut Bling Bling is not available at retail stores in the states (not according to the Absolut website, anyway), but you might be able to track it down at a duty free shop or a liquor store in another country if you're going to be doing some traveling.
