Aloico Lava Stone Tables

This table seems to call out for a shady spot in a verdant garden to make its own. The table is from Aloico, a company which imports ceramics from Sicily. They offer a wide variety of colorful pieces including Limoncello sets which come with a decanter, tray and six glasses for enjoying the deliciously sunny liqueur. The table shown here is the 26-inch Grapes of Eden lava stone table top which weighs 100 pounds and sells for $2,750.

Daniel Ogassian Tiles

Another exhibit that I caught my eye at CABoom was the work of Daniel Ogassian. Ogassian does tile, pottery and furniture that has a modular, puzzle-like appeal. The tiles can be combined in a variety of intriguing shapes. The tiles can be customized with different glazes and patterns using your own graphics. Ogassian also carries the modular look into his ceramic pods like the pod 3 planter shown here. After the jump, check out what I found to be one of Ogassian's most compelling designs, a tile that is designed to let grass grow up through it (and to think all of all that time you wasted weeding between tiles).

Montecito Chaise

Most furniture companies are now releasing their lines of outdoor furniture for spring/summer, and this chaise lounge from Room & Board is one of the more original pieces I've seen. Wicker makes the chaise (called the Montecito) classic-looking, while the teak wheels and aluminum base lend a modern feel. According to the company's web site, there's also a storage compartment beneath the backrest. Price: $1,599.
