Flamingo Las Vegas Goes Retro Chic
Filed under: Luxury Travel & Hotels

The Flamingo in Las Vegas isn't the most fashionable hotel in Las Vegas and they know it. Instead of making a move toward the more posh and elegant interior decor styles of the Wynn and the MGM Grand, the Flamingo has taken their redesign in a different direction, going retro with new riffs of old Vegas style. The renovated Flamingo rooms called "GO Rooms" for the last two letter of the Flamingo name, are available in three suites: GO Metropolitan, GO Neapolitan and GO Cosmopolitan as well as standard GO rooms and suites.
There are 30 new GO Metropolitan suites, two-bedroom, 1500 square-foot suites with two marble bathrooms, three entertainment centers and four 42" flat-panel high-definition television sets. There are also 14 GO Cosmopolitan suites which are 800 square-foot one-bedroom suites, and 38 GO Neapolitan suites which measure 650 square feet and have one bedroom and a living area both of which are decorated in a combination of Flamingo pink and coordinating striped wallpaper. It's an interesting design direction they have taken here, retro can be risky in Vegas, a city that both reveres its past and seeks to obliterate it at every turn. Overall, I like it but the tufted headboards give me serious pause. Let me know what you think in the comments. The pink and striped wallpaper version is after the jump.
