A speeding Ferrari recently cost a Swiss millionare the price of a small yacht.
Eastern Switzerland's St. Gallen cantonal court slapped a $290,000 fine on a repeat offender who reportedly sped down country roads at up to 137 kph (85 mph in a zone where the limit was 50). According to Reuters. he was caught while "racing through a village at 100 km per hour in his red Ferrari Testarossa" (above).
It's a hefty fine by anyone's standards, but when a man worth $22.6 million repeatedly and brazenly breaks the law and endangers lives, perhaps a big dollar amount is all that will get his attention. "Court clerk Heidi Baumann-Becker said Thursday the unidentified driver can appeal the decision, handed down in November, to the Swiss supreme court," reports Yahoo.
