YogaToes, the Antidote to Manolos and Jimmys

We at Luxist love Manolo and Jimmy and Stuart -- their shoes are to die for. And sometimes the pain from a beauty like this makes toes feel like dying too. Here's a solution: YogaToes. Basically YogaToes promises to give toes and feet a good stretch after they've been squashed in shoes all day and at the same time prevent icky and unattractive toe and bunion problems, something that's important at this time of year if feet are to be sandal-ready!

While I certainly wouldn't put this product in the luxury goods category, its seems like something every girl should have if she wants to keep wearing luxury shoes. But I do wonder if an inexpensive set of toes spacers, like used during a pedicure, would have a similar effect ... YogaToes come in small and medium, and in eight colors. $49.95; two pairs: $39.95 each; three pairs: $33 each.

Lee Hale Bird Feet Candle Holders

If you're looking to put some "creepy" on your table then these Lee Hale Bird Feet candle holders could be what's missing. I'm all about the outdoors and generally gravitate towards things with a natural theme, but these decapitated bird feet are not appealing to me at all. They even look a little violent, what with the big claws and all.

But obviously somebody in the world must love them, and differences in taste is what makes everything interesting. So if you think these are beautiful then great for you -- just 60,000 yen for the pair.

Paris Hilton Is in the Shoe Biz

So what hasn't Paris Hilton done yet? Designed her own shoe line! The heiress will soon be adding one more industry onto her "been there, done that" list (it's gotta be a novel if she actually has one), and that's footwear. Early next year Paris Hilton Footwear is scheduled to launch thanks to a recently signed licensing agreement with Antebi Footwear Group. Paris was quoted as saying "My goal is to create a stylish and fun fashion line from head to toe."

Alrighty then. I'm curious to see what she comes up with, although I'm sure they'll be cute and stylish. The Paris Hilton Footwear collection will supposedly include something for everybody, meaning everything from stilettos to wedges to flats.

Nice Piggies: Medical Pedicures

Corns, Calluses, Hammertoes, lend me your soles!

I come not to praise your bunions, but to bury them!

Or at least that's the thinking behind the medical pedicure -- a new trend in high-end beauty treatments. According to an article in the New York Times, medical pedicures refer to a treatment involving "extensive cleaning, sanding, buffing and shaping."

Unlike the pedicures most of us have come to love, which typically involve strip malls, special foot-bath chairs and conversations amongst pedicurists in languages you do not understand, the medical pedicure takes foot cosmetics to a whole new level.

The actual services involved in a medical pedicure can vary. If the service is provided by a medical spa, customers can expect to have their calluses, corns and ingrown toe-nails cut out with specialized tools. Some tend to be less involved and invasive -- offering customers a thorough cleaning and shaping that still trumps what you would get in your neighborhood nail parlor.

And what is the explanation for this trend? My guess is over-exposed feet.

With springtime shoes that are going from bare to hardly there, it's no surprise that women have started to feel self-conscious about the appearance of their feet. The beauty industry has tapped into a new lucrative market with this treatment, since the average medical pedicures range from $100-$300.
