The Christian Louboutin Mia Satin Evening Bag is a simple, elegant bag with enough character to hold its own against your flashiest evening wear.

Holiday party time is approaching fast, and before you know it you'll be trading in that summer tote bag you're still holding on to for a pretty little evening bag. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to take along your laptop for that moment when you need to do a quick e-mail check, or map out a route to the next fete, and you don't have a BlackBerry? Wait ... what kind of person is so uncool, such a Luddite, that she doesn't have a BlackBerry? Me. But I'm getting one soon, promise. In the meantime, if I had Sony's tiny, 1.4-lb. Miniature Magnolia Box by Judith Leiber, Handbag of the Day

Judith Leiber's tiny clutches are not new to Luxist but I couldn't resist her Miniature Magnolia Box. Maybe it's my family's southern heritage or the giant magnolia blooms that used to amaze me with their fragrant scent and larger-than-life size (at least for a girl from the arid west). The entire little evening bag is smothered in rhinestone crystals like a perfectly iced cake and features a push-top closure and hinged bottom. Each side of the box shines with a different take on the iconic blossom like having a split personality with an angelic, lightly-hued flower on one side and it's darker, more mischievous cousin on the other. Although palm-sized (2" by 2") this little bag will illuminate your ensemble with the right touch of pizazz. ($535)

Only women looking to make a serious statement, and who really like frogs, will buy and carry this Evening Rana Pouch by Marc Jacobs. It might not be the boldest wristlet out there, but with an over-sized golden frog (complete with glittering gemstone eyes) perched brazenly on the front it's hardly subtle. Made of kangaroo leather with a lining of silk my favorite feature is the attractive single strap loop-through closure. And if the black isn't bright enough for you now worries, there's always the hot pink option (in case the golden frog alone just isn't going to turn enough heads). 8" x 5 1/2" x 6", $795.

This is an evening bag that should make any woman feel elegant, feminine, and timeless. The D&G Satin Evening Bag has a slight 'old-fashioned' vibe, in a good way, and would be the perfect accessory for a favorite little black dress. Made of fine satin inside and out, plus with polished gold hardware and metal grained leather trim it has the look of shimmering elegance without trying too hard by adding jewels or other bling. Metallics never seem to go out of style, and when it comes to accenting an evening gown with a handbag some glistening silver mixed with a little Austrian crystal sparkle is never a bad idea. The crisp silver combined with a sunburst flower petal design on the Marquis by Judith Leiber make it a great bag for all seasons (it could pass as an ice and snowflake pattern in the winter) but of course it's really an essential for spring. It has a push down snap closure, lined interior, chain handle with a 9.5" drop, plus it comes boxed up all pretty with a keepsake bag. 5" x 4" x 1.5", $1295.

The words "bling bling" conjure images of something gaudy and over-the-top, which I don't think is appropriate for this lovely little bag. Obviously vintage-inspired, the 'fabric' of this metal-frame bag is created from linked Crystals, forming an open weave of jewels over the silver lining. More crystals dot the handle and the clasp is set with a large Swarovski Crystal accent. Measuring 8"W X 5½" D, this perfect party bag sells for $900.

I don't generally go for Juicy Couture, but this bag caught my eye. I think it is the subtle pink color peeking out beneath the gold metallic leather that gives this bag a touch of unexpected sophistication. That, and the fact that the leather itself isn't blindingly bright. With a flirty little bow and classic kiss-lock closure, this clutch would actually look good on an adult. And at $95, you could get it in both silver and gold.

This is one gorgeous bag. The chunky black 'jewel' embellishment is pretty on its own, but I love the way it is attached to the flap with soft satin ribbon. A simple suede strap would have worked just fine on this bag, but the snake chain adds much more interest and versatility - it coverts from a shoulder to a wrist strap. Available in deep black suede as shown or in a lighter camel color, it measures 10" x 5½" x 3" and sells for $1335.
