Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Edition

It's been a while since we've brought you news on the Mercedes-Benz SLR Mclaren. And with good reason: it was discontinued a year ago, and the two companies behind it have since gone their separate ways. But busy as McLaren is with its own new line of supercars, they've found enough time to bring the SLR back out of retirement for an encore.

The SLR McLaren Edition is a kit to be mounted on existing models, giving the exotic a revised suspension, steering, aerodynamics and interior. Only 25 examples will be offered, making this even more exclusive than the five different variants on the theme offered previously. No word on pricing, but if you already have an SLR sitting in the driveway, something tells us cost will be no object.

One-of-a-Kind Ferrari-based Sbarro Lista Office Debuts in Germany

If you're wealthy, you can buy a Ferrari. But if you're truly wealthy, you can commission your own. Coachbuilt examples of Maranello's finest have a deep history that has come up to the present date with such examples as Zagato 550 GTZ and this, the Sbarro Lista Office.

Based on the 80s-era Ferrari Testarossa, the strangely-named Lista Office is the fourth in Swiss designer Franco Sbarro's Alcador series, and the third iteration of the modern Alcador GTB. Commissioned by a Swiss car collector by the name of Lienhard, the Lista Office was unveiled this past weekend at the Essen tuner show in Germany. No word on how much Lienhard had to pay for the privilege, but you can bet it cost a fair bit more than stock.

9ff Speed9 Takes the 911 Turbo to the Next Level

A Porsche is special enough for most, but for those looking for a bit more, there is no shortage of German tuners that specialize in Zuffenhausen's finest who'll be glad to bring it to the next level. Arguably foremost among them is 9ff, the relatively new outfit that made its mark with the record-breaking GT9.

With the Essen aftermarket tuner show coming up next weekend, 9ff has prepared the new Speed9. Based on the latest 911 Turbo convertible, the Speed9 sacrifices its rear seats for a slick profile evocative of the iconic 1955 Porsche 356 Speedster, with enough ground effects to match. Naturally 9ff hasn't stopped at looks alone, boosting the twin-turbo engine up from 473 horsepower to a shocking 650. No official word on price or performance, but you can expect both to exceed expectations.
