This is a man with a lot of money. After pulling up past his Porsche Cayenne and personal gas pump in a Maserati, New York Hedge Fund manager Jim Glicknehaus swaps cars for a Ferrari Enzo-turned retro '60s sports car.

Glickenhaus liked the 330 P3/4-era Ferraris so much that he took his Enzo out to Turin, Italy, to recreate the classic cars based on state-of-the-art technology. The entire upgrade cost $4 million on top of the $1 million sticker price on the Enzo all by its lonesome.

Among the upgrades include a complete overhaul of the body, redesigned and rebuilt by Pininfarina, 20' wheels wrapped in fatter tires, beautiful, custom-made fabric (picked out by his wife? Daughter? I'm not one to judge, I just don't know), and a raised "cut line" to allow for easier access to the monster living underneath the hood.

Ferrari liked the overhaul so much that they approved badging the vehicle as a bona fide Ferrari.

Maybe it's because he's rich, or maybe it's because he's an actor and spends so much time "faking" emotions, but I don't think Eddie Griffin looked nearly upset enough in this video when he accidentally ran a Ferrari Enzo into a cement wall during a practice lap for an upcoming charity event promoting his newest movie, Redline. I realize that sad things like this happen all the time in Hollywood and in the movie-making industry, but that doesn't mean I have to like it -- especially when it happens by mistake!

At least no one was seriously injured - that is, if you're not counting the car, which is (was) valued at over $1 million dollars.

The story of the epic Enzo crash on Pacific Coast Highway just gets more and more interesting. The latest episode involves the wife of Stefan Eriksson, the former Gizmondo boss who took the Ferrari for its ill-fated spin. The LA Times says that Nicole Persson was stopped by Beverly Hills police along Wilshire Blvd. driving Eriksson's Mercedes SLR McLaren. The car had British plates but no tags and Persson did not have a valid driver's license. The car was impounded. As we mentioned earlier, it seems that both the Ferrari and the McLaren may belong to a bank in Scotland and Eriksson shipped the cars to the U.S. to avoid surrendering them. I saw this on the local news this morning. Apparently some idiot took a Ferrari Enzo out for a little early morning spin along Pacific Coash Highway in Malibu. The genius smashed the $1 million car into a telephone pole and then took off into the hills leaving his passenger in the car with a cut lip. A three-hour search by helicopter and car failed to turn up the driver. According to details from the news, the engine was on the highway while the Ferrari wreckage was a few hundred yards away and it is estimated the car was traveling at least 100 mph. Given that the Enzo is an extremely rare and pricey car it makes me wonder if we are looking at a celeb-on-the-run situation here.

UPDATE: It turns out the passenger was the owner of the car. The  owner who is from the Beverly Hills-Bel Air area says the driver ran off but according to police only the driver's side airbag had blood on it.
