David Hasselhoff in Encino, Estate of the Day

David Hasselhoff has a lot of gold records. That's just one of the surprises to be found in David Hasselhoff's Encino, California home. The Real Estalker revealed that Hasselhoff's home, which was briefly up for sale last summer a price of $5.95 million, is on the market for a new lower price. Hasselhoff's home, which he co-owns with his ex-wife Pamela Bach, sits on an acre lot that includes a pool, tennis court and two guest houses, one of which is currently in use as a gym. The Hasselhoffs bought the home in 1996 for $1.98 million from actor John Goodman.

Inside there are those gold records we mentioned and a decor that belies the exterior Colonial-style facade. The home is heavy on the marble, chandeliers and wrought iron especially in the impressive double-height living room. Beige and brown reign supreme from the tiled floor and granite counter tops in the kitchen to the mud-colored wall-to-wall carpeting in the great room. One shot of color comes from a bedroom that pops with bright turquoise walls and a bubble chair. The huge master suite includes an office and two bathrooms, one with a walk-in shower and grand expanses of marble countertop. This home is now listed for $4.195 million.

$200,000 Offered For Stolen Artwork

If you've seen any of the nine missing paintings shown above you could earn yourself a $200,000 reward. These paintings were stolen during a home robbery in Encino, California at the end of August while the elderly owners were in a back room. The thief stole paintings including Marc Chagall's "Les Paysans," Diego Rivera's "Mexican Peasant," and Arshile Gorky's "Cubist Still Life," a total of at least a dozen artworks in less than one hour. The Los Angeles police have announced a $200,000 reward for information leading to the paintings' return. But, as the L.A. Times reports, it is unknown where the money came from, only that it was not a government source.

Each painting is worth at least six figures with some worth over $1 million. If the thief doesn't know exactly what they have it may show up on the market soon at a pawn shop or other places but a more savvy thief might be willing to wait a while and then quietly slip it onto the market in another part of the country or overseas. The pieces have been registered in the Art Loss Register and in the FBI and Interpol stolen art files so anyone who does their homework should be able to know what they are getting. However, the networks to sell stolen art are elaborate and secretive and many pieces are not recovered. Often if a piece is not recovered quickly it can disappear for many years or even permanently.

Kelly Van Halen's House, Estate of the Day

Being a celebrity ex-wife often nets you some lovely real estate. Research god Bob Goldsborough of Berg Properties Big Time Listings unearthed the listing for the Encino, California home of Kelly Van Halen. Kelly Van Halen is the second ex-wife of Alex Van Halen the drummer in Van Halen and Eddie Van Halen's older brother. After their divorce, Kelly Van Halen paid $1,565,000 in November 2002 for this home. The home was built in 1951 and has five bedrooms.

The property is quite nice. The home is on a little over an acre and has a wonderful pool area and a pergola with a lovely stone outdoor fireplace. There is also an outdoor kitchen with a barbecue area. The back of the house has great veranda space that looks out over the hilly property. The home has many lovely features including a formal dining room, a study and a master bedroom with a fireplace. The interior with its foofy design style reminds me of the Suzanne Somers home, all bright colors and chandeliers and zebra print rugs. The listing says that is was redesigned by Kelly Baron Design and a quick search led me to the Kelly Baron website which is under construction but features two pictures of this home. The name is curious, it makes me wonder if the ex-Mrs. Van Halen planning a career as a designer? She has listed this home for $4.495 million.

Joely Fisher's Hideaway, Estate of the Day

Today's estate is owned by actress and Hollywood royalty Joely Fisher (her parents are Connie Stevens and Eddie Fisher). Both Big Time Listings and the Real Estalker Mama weighed in on this rather interesting property. The home, a four-bedroom in Encino, is interesting on its own but it is what Ms. Fisher and her husband, cinematographer , Christopher Duddy have done with the place that is truly worthy of note. The house is located on a long cul de sac with a big gate making it perfect for secretive celebs.

It's so completely decorated with Tibetan and Indian furnishings that ti seems either the couple spent a lot of time on exotic travels bringing back souvenirs. Or they hopped on over to the local global imports store and bought out the stock. Strip the house of its furnishings and it is sleek, modern, maybe even a touch boring with its stainless steel and wood kitchen and a living room with smooth stone floors.

The Real Estalker Mama was not a fan of the massive bulb-rimmed mirror in the master bath but I rather love it, you'd never leave the house looking anything but flawless ever again because it would highlight every flaw. On the other hand, she liked the Indian cabana thingy next to the saltwater pool and I would ditch that in a New York minute. The home also includes home theater with THX sound and a guesthouse. It is listed at $4.75 million. After the jump,

Ashlee Simpson's House for Sale

Ashlee Simpson has just put her Encino home on the market, deciding to leave the hills for the beach. The house is located on one acre of land in the Royal Oaks gated community off Mullholland Drive. It has 4 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms and 9,000-sq feet or total living space, including Ashlee's favorite feature: a 1,300-sq. ft closet off the master suite. It has great views, a pool and lots of marble patio space. According to Simpson, you can see her parents' house from the estate, so celeb spotting is a fringe benefit of the property. The house is listed by Sotheby's and the asking price is just under $6 million.
