Esslack Gold and Silver Food Paint

The Deli Garage in Germany is offering a unique way to dress up your food: edible gold and silver food spray paint. Called Esslack, it makes anything from fresh fruit and vegetables to baked goods like pretzels suddenly look like solid chunks of precious metal. Personally I think the tomatoes in the picture above look totally unappetizing (as does this pretzel done in silver) but there could be some interesting and attractive uses for it, perhaps on wedding cakes and cookies, or maybe accents on fancy hors d'oeuvres. Party Like the Victoria's Secret Angels November 19th

This Thursday, November 19, is the date of the annual sexiest night of the year: The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. It's taking place at the Lexington Avenue Armory in NYC, hosted by mama Heidi Klum (right), and do you know what cocktail they'll be serving at the after-party at M2? You're about to.

The Stoli Angel Elixir has been specially crafted for the event and will be available at M2's official Victoria's Secret Fashion Show After Party. This is a must-have for any viewing soiree (the show will be aired on CBS December 1), and we've got the recipe:

Stoli Angel Elixir
1 oz Stoli Gala Applik
3 strawberries
Sprinkles of vanilla sugar
Rosé Sparkling Dessert Wine

Muddle strawberries and vanilla sugar. Add Stoli Gala Applik, shake well and strain into a flute. Top with rose sparking dessert wine. Garnish with edible gold dust & pink aphrodisiac rose petal.

Chocouture Diamond Collection

They aren't diamonds but the 24k gold and diamond chocolates in the Chocouture Diamond Collection do feature edible gold leaf. The candy diamond is made out of sugar and set in a chocolate that is made with a single-malt Scotch ganache. Each gemlike candy is set in glassine paper inside the faux leather box. These candies sell for $105 for 16 pieces.

London Restaurant Creates World's Most Expensive Curry

Ready to eat the most luxurious curry around? For £2,000 a portion, the London restaurant Bombay Brasserie is serving Samundari Khazana, or Seafood Treasure. The dish includes caviar, abalone, sea snails, truffle shavings , a whole lobster splashed in edible gold and four hollowed-out quail eggs stuffed with caviar. The curry was launched to coincide with the DVD launch of the movie Slumdog Millionaire. You can see a picture over at the Daily Mail.

Delafee Gold Chocolates

You won't be handing these out at Halloween, Swiss company DeLafee makes pricey pralines covered in edible gold. The chocolate is made from a blend of criollo cocoa beans from Ecuador and Venezuela and Forestero cocoa beans from Ghana. The DeLafée pralinés are made of a shell of 56% cocoa filled with a creamy chocolate ganache and then sprinkled with 24K edible gold leaf. The Celebration package of eight chocolates sells for $98.40. The website even provides a bunch of cheesy sayings to accompany your chocolates if you wish such as "you are sweet as chocolate and precious as gold."

The $2.16 Million Vienna Gold Coin Cake

When we talk multimillion dollar edibles one place always takes the cake, Tokyo. We've seen a diamond fruitcake and a diamond chocolate but now this time it's all about the gold. The latest feat of culinary decadence is this Vienna Gold Coin Cake which is on display in a Tokyo jewelry store. The cake celebrates the 250th anniversary of the birth of Mozart. The four-level cake is worth $2.16 million and is covered with gold coins and gold leaf.
