Tuscany Inn, Estate of the Day

Earlier this year I mentioned the listing for the Land's End Inn in Provincetown, MA. Now another inn has gone on the market in another Massachusetts resort area, Edgartown on Martha's Vineyard. This classic white clapboard home is an 1890s Captain's House which was renovated in 1993 and operated as The Tuscany Inn. Now it is a private residence with L'Etoile restaurant on the main floor. There are eight guest rooms, eight and a half baths, two dining rooms with seating for forty people, terrace dining seats and a bar area. The building has a restaurant kitchen with basement wine storage. There are jarbor views from the second and third floors. Unfortunately the listing pictures for this one are even worse than the bad ones we saw for the Land's End property so you'll have to use your imagination to conjure up an Edgartown summer evening. It is listed at $8.7 million.

Cow Bay, Estate of the Day

This home is so stereotypically Martha's Vineyard you can practically smell the salt water. The new shingled home is in the Cow Bay area of Edgartown the main town on the small island off the coast of Cape Cod. You don't get ocean views with this one but you get water views of Sengekontacket Pond. The home also has access to private association beaches of Cow Bay on the eastern shore of Martha's Vineyard. The five-bedroom home is either very staged or decorated by someone with a keen love of the preppy. Check out the living room complete with model sailboat and the quilt with the nautical flags. There are also two master suites with private bathrooms. The home is on a little over two acres and has a heated inground pool. Pools surrounded by grass don't exactly light my fire but this is probably just a place to rinse off since you've got the ocean so nearby. It is listed at $6.5 million.

Riverdance Couple Sets Real Estate Record

We already learned that Riverdance has made Michael Flatley a big spender but check out the new summer home of Riverdance founder Moya Doherty and her husband, John McColgan. The Boston Globe reports that the couple picked up a $25.17 million house in Edgartown on Martha's Vineyard. The new purchase set a record on the pricey vacation island off the coast of Cape Cod which often boasts summer guests like Michael J. Fox, Spike Lee and Bill Clinton. The couple took out a $37 million mortgage which means big renovations are on the way. The Globe has a bunch of pictures of the shingled sprawler which has five bedrooms and four fireplaces. The land also includes a boat house, guest apartment and an observatory.
