Sharon Stone has been the face of Damiani jewelry since 2008. Now she has created a new line of jewelry that benefits a charity initiative. Stone and Damiani are supporting The Clean Water project which will build wells for extracting clean water in African villages. The Maji (maji means "water" in Swahili language) collection is the first in the series of "Sharon Stone for Damiani" lines. Part of the proceeds from sales will be donated to non-government and no-profit humanitarian associations that raise funds to build wells. The jewelry includes rings, pendants, bracelets and earrings with rough diamonds set on burnished gold or silver and are signed by Sharon Stone and Damiani. Stone was on hand at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel recently to unveil the collection. At the event Stone talked to Extra about her visit to Uganda, why she is believes that access to water is an essential human right and the work done by Drop In A Bucket initiative to put in clean water wells and latrines.
