Marcel Wanders Swing

Marcel Wanders is at it again with a playful creation with Droog Design. The seat of this swing can be filled with soil and seeds planted inside. It is designed so that vines will grow up the ropes. The swing is made of polyethylene with a nylon rope and comes in white, black or green. It can be used indoors or outside but will cost you more than a rope and a board, it sells for $550.

Tejo Remy Chest of Drawers

I am not quite sure what to make of this unusual chest of drawers. Is it art? Is it functional furniture? Maybe it is both. Tejo Remy designed the 'You Can't Lay Down Your Memory' chest for Droog Design in 1991 and it has since become part of the permanent design collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The chest is made from drawers collected from the street and is a unique work of art. Unique, it is. Because the materials are found drawers, each chest is different and may include combinations of wood, metal, paper, plastic, burlap, contact paper, and paint. It sells for $28,000.

Slow Glow Lamp, Fat On The Move

This lamp, from Droog Design, is somewhere between brilliant and creepy. The Slow Glow light, which was formerly known as the fatlamp, was designed by next architects. It consists of a large bulb filled with fat. You turn on the light and as the fat heats and melts up the light gradually gets brighter. It is selling at Unica Home for $436. They see it is as a discussion piece, the sluggish nature and the fat of the lamp perhaps representing the obesity trend. Me, I'm not quite sure what to think but I I know this is one lamp you don't want to accidentally knock over.
