Dooney & Bourke's 'Chiara' Drawstring Shopper, Handbag of the Day

The croc-embossed leather of this fashionable shopper gleams in shades of cognac, cherry, black and camel with autumnal flavor. Gold tone buckles and logo plate accent the leather bag along with a drawstring and magnetic closure for $450. There are also two similar 'Chiara' styles in addition to this one -- a slightly smaller version in the Croco Small Chiara ($350) as well as the wild Animal Chiara version ($450). I like the solid, wider straps and briefcase size making it perfect for work, day or play. (15" x 11" x 6 1/2" with strap drop of 8")

Dooney and Bourke Medium Logo Lock Satchel, Handbag of the Day

I usually find Dooney and Bourke bags to be a little stiff and boring. This one isn't all that exciting, but I like it for its simplicity. Clean lines, the sparing use of silver-tone hardware, and the neutral color make this satchel perfect for every day use. It looks quite rugged and up to the job of toting around the stuff you just can't leave home without. The cowhide leather is water repellent and the bottom has protective feet. Measuring 10½"H x 17"W x 8½" D, the bag features internal zip and cell phone pockets. It is also available in a pretty blue, but I think we've seen enough pretty blue bags lately. $395.

Dooney & Bourke Tattoo Medium Banana Bag, Handbag of the Day

Not only does this Dooney & Bourke bag have a great shape, its unique pattern is fun and eye-catching. The Tattoo Medium Banana Bag is adorned with small flowers, large hearts that are embellished with the designer's name and perhaps even a pin-up girl, though she is easier to see on the larger bucket bag. The banana has six exterior pockets along with two interior pockets and a key clip. Its 8-inch drop strap, made of leather and secured to the vinyl-coated cotton print bag by a linked chain, can easily fit under the arm or be carried in-hand. Price: $195.
