Hal Dining Table

The Hal Dining Table is more sculpture than plain table, with a base made from a geometric, eight-faced wooden carving. Each piece is handmade by designer William Earle and this design, like his other works, is remarkable for its simplicity and elegance - both surprising features to find in something that could easily be bulky and distracting. The base is 29.5h x 29.5w and is topped with a thick glass table top. It is available in six finishes, as well as in a much smaller coffee table form. Price: $2000.

Armani Ginza Table

The Ginza Table is a lovely dining room table from the Armani Casa collection. The table is made in Italy and has rich brown oak paneling. It is large, measuring 29 1/2" x 106 3/10" x 41", with single-piece legs that are slightly flared "to evoke lightness." The flair of those legs, in addition to the basic lines of the table, also give the piece a slightly Asian look to it: streamlined and simple, yet elegant. It is a timeless piece of furniture that will complement many home designs. Price: $5,995.

Levi Table

The Levi Table manages to be sleek and rustic at the same time. It has a clear acrylic base that lets the 90-layer birch plywood top, which weighs 70-kg, almost appear to float above the ground. The top is 12-cm thick and contains a battery operated LED light that reflects light throughout the base, so the table not only looks like it's floating, but as though it is floating on (subtle) light. If the wood top does not strike your fancy, or match your decor, a cast concrete top is available in multiple colors. The birch ply can also be substituted with oak or teak. The price, excluding shipping, is £875 for the birch top and £235 for the base (about $2110 total).
