If you liked the Devon GTX supercar and the Tread 1 timepiece that followed, you'll want to have a look at the latest project from Devon Works. Called the Edge, it's a one-of-a-kind custom sportbike crafted for Devon by Japanese chopper shogun Shinya Kamura. The bike, which appears to be based on a Ducati 1098/1198 frame, will be unveiled this weekend at the Quail Lodge Motorcycle Gathering, but Devon's given us this sneak preview ahead of time. After the show, the Edge will be displayed at Devon's Beverly Hills boutique where this solitary example will be available for purchase for $200,000.

We see innovations in watchmaking all the time and most are all working on the same idea of cogs and gears. But the Tread 1 watch offers a new idea, and its execution is worth a second glance, to say the least. The brainchild of Scott Devon – the man behind the Devon GTX supercar – the Tread 1 is the first in a planned range of timepieces from the innovative California-based firm. The Tread 1's movement is inspired by motorcycles and developed with input from the aerospace industry. It's driven by four microstep motors driving fiberglass/nylon composite belts only 2/1000ths of an inch thick. A rechargeable lithium polymer cell provides enough power for two weeks on a single charge. No telling how much the Devon Tread 1 will set you back when it reaches the market, but then you can hardly put a price on innovative design.

Devon GTX: New American Supercar Debuts at Pebble Beach

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos

Exclusive supercars have typically been the realm of European automakers, but Devon hopes to change all that with the GTX. Rumors and speculation have been circulating for months about the all-American exotic, but the start-up automaker chose the exclusive Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance as the venue to unveil their first creation.

The Devon GTX packs the 8.4-liter V10 engine sourced from the Dodge Viper, tuned to 650 horsepower and mated to a six-speed manual transmission, into a steel frame with carbon fiber body panels. 18-inch front and 19-inch rear wheels are sheathed in Michelin Pilot Sport 2 Z-rated tires, with a 19 and 20-inch set-up also available, housing six-piston and four-piston break calipers front and rear, for superior stopping abilities to match the engine's monstrous power capacity. Only 36 examples will be produced per year at a price of $500,000, and a racing package is available for another $25k.
