This bright bag from Michael Kors definitely scores some points for originality. A simple alligator-embossed leather clutch in a fresh lime green is dressed up with a masculine, gold-tone...watchband? I guess it is better than skulls and bracelet charms, but where is this taking us? If leftover watch parts can find a home on high-end handbags, can cuff links and tie tacks be far behind? It is a lovely bag that probably would have been best left unadorned. $3,000.

Inlaid with reflective silver tiles, this unique bag opens with a hidden magnetic closure and measures 6" x 3½" x 2½". It is lined with white microsuede and sells for $1130.

One look at this gorgeous floral clutch and it is easy to see why Leiber was named the most prestigious handbag brand in the Luxury Institute's 2007 Luxury Brand Status Index survey. Covered in Austrian crystals and trimmed in gold-tone metal, the clutch is feminine and colorful. An optional 15" chain strap is included and the interior is lined in napa leather. Measuring 3 ¼"H x 6"W x 1 ¾"D, the clutch is hand-crafted and sells for $3,595.

It's a little black box all dressed up with a large bow and funky chain strap. It's cute, but I imagine the studs on the chain would be a bit uncomfortable when slung across your shoulder. The chain is detachable on one side, so tuck it into the bag and it will look lovely with your little black party dress. The back side is without adornment and the interior is lined with satin. Measuring 6 ½" wide by 3½" high by 2½ deep, it sells for $1310.

Lulu Guinness remains one of my favorite handbag designers. Combining elegance and attitude, the bags are often quirky but always stylish. The Sputnik Clutch is no exception, marrying rich black satin with retro sputnik cabouchons and multi-hued embroidery. The slick black frame opens to bright yellow lining and one interior pocket. Measuring 22cm wide by 12cm high, the bag sells for £145.00.

This may look like a petite little shoulder bag, but it is actually quite roomy. Measuring 23cm x 10cm x 5cm, it has a structured top with zip closure and multiple strands of pretty gold chain for a strap. A little bit of pleating adds even more dimension to the soft textured leather and the color is - well, I am not sure what you call that color. Salmon? Made in Italy, it is lined inside and features one interior pocket. £725.00

This metallic snakeskin clutch is available in old silver as shown or a richer gold toned shadow color. Either way, the flashy pleated bag is jazzed up with faceted stone and logo stud accents in a seemingly random pattern on the front. This over-sized jewelry reminds me of bubbles and adds a bit of fun to the otherwise formal clutch. There are two ways to carry this bag - by the wrist lanyard on the side or by slipping your hand through the wide strap on the back. With a top zip closure and coordinating interior lining, the bag features just one zip pocket and sells for $535.

Burberry Hyde Patent Studded Clutch, Handbag of the Day

I love the berry color, but this studded bag looks like it might be a little painful to carry as a clutch. I suppose that is why it was designed with short strap that allows the bag dangle prettily from your wrist instead of tucked up under your arm. If you like gold-tone buckles, this is the bag for you - there are two on each side, three on the front and one more on the wristlet. That's a lot of buckles for one bag. $1495.

It's not shiny, trendy or even all that unique, but I love the worn-in look of this handmade clutch. The soft brown lambskin looks slightly distressed and is accented with a simple gold-tone ring and contrasting top stitching. At 11"L x 6.5"H, it's just large enough to make a great everyday clutch that will only get better with wear. Lined with chocolate brown satin, there are more pockets inside than you would expect - a cell phone, slide and 7" zippered. $350.

This is not your average metallic bag. The fabric is called 'broken mirror' and the look is dramatic. Made from crackled calf leather, the stunning pewter fabric is repeated on multi-faceted 'gems' and again on the frame. You can never have too much of a good thing, right?
