Darwin Ranch, Estate of the Day

Today's estate brings us some beautiful Wyoming views. The Darwin Ranch is a private 160-acre in-holding in the Bridger-Teton National Forest that is completely surrounded by the Gros Ventre Wilderness Area and the National Forest. The ranch is 30 air miles east of Jackson Hole in a natural basin surrounded by the Gros Ventre Range and three 10,000-foot ridges.
On the property there is an authentic lodge and several small but comfortable cabins. It has been operated as a small guest ranch and outfitting business by the current owners for the last 45 years and is accessible seasonally by road and off-season by snowmobile. There is also a nearby airstrip under permit from the national forest that will accommodate single engine aircraft. The Gros Ventre River meanders through the ranch and the ranch offers dry-fly fishing, hiking, riding and hunting. This ranch was given to the original owner by Teddy Roosevelt (presidential decree). It is listed at $8.5 million.
