The phrase that the manufacturer uses to describe the Geniol Fireplace Majestic Edition is "awe-inspiring." The indoor fireplace is mounted in a tall glass cylinder and sits far higher off the ground than the similar floor model of the same fireplace. The fixture requires no chimney or extractor, although a slightly open window or two will both help with ventilation and allow a bit of air circulation to help the flame dance around. It can also be used outside if a fire risk is a concern. A stainless steel furnace fixture, which gives the appearance of floating in mid air due to the way it is mounted in the glass tube, is what produces the flames.
