New from Rebecca & Drew - TrioPacks

A sample Trio Pack from Rebecca & DrewRebecca & Drew, makers of the best custom shirts for women we've seen, have a brand new special for this summer: TrioPacks.

If you've worn their shirts before (perhaps ordered a custom one where you choose the fabric, cuffs, collar, embroidery, and more) we assume you're already hooked on the fit -- especially with those all-important double buttons that thwart the embarrassing side-view-peep-show which happens to other shirts when you sit. Their materials are the best, their sizes are custom by shape, height, and bra-size, and now you can get a three-in-one package of them -- It's luxury at a sensible discount.

"I rely on our classic shirts every day to get me through the week, and with the TrioPack, we wanted to create a simple, convenient, and cost-effective way to help professional women dress with ease so that they concentrate on their business at hand," says Rebecca & Drew co-founder, Rebecca Matchett.

The pack is $399, and you can pick light blue, black, white, pink, or a mix of colors. Normally the shirts are $150 - $195 apiece, so the savings are truly significant. We believe that Rebecca & Drew is raising the standards for work clothing for women, and hope that this release of a three-in-one will get more of their shirts out there, so we don't ever have to accept less.

Yes, you can have them monogrammed.

The [me] & goji Custom Cereal Experience

Custom Cereal by [me] & gojiWe were so excited about luxury custom cereal company [me] & goji, we ordered some ourselves to test out the custom cereal experience.

We personally created a cereal we called "What Would Batman Eat" with:
  • 5-grain muesli
  • quinoa
  • barley
  • amaranth
  • chia
  • goji
We were most excited about the goji, a fruit we had never tried, which they call "healthy enough to name a company after."

Check out our gallery below to see what we thought of "What Would Batman Eat?" as well as their pre-made mix "A Wintry Wake-Up." There are also tips on cereal design from the founder!

Custom Cereal by [me] & goji

meandgoji.com
[me] & goji makes custom cereal, so that you can have whatever taste and whichever health benefits you want in your breakfast or snack. They have over 50 all-natural and organic ingredients, and the nutritional value of the cereal you invent is updated in real time while you invent it!

You start with a cereal base, then add enhancements, fruits, then nuts and seeds. The site is very informative and will tell you exactly what you're getting, whether or not it has gluten, what the ingredients chief benefits are, and more.

Cereal boxes typically contain eight servings, but the [me] & goji "capsules" contain fifteen (they look like big thermoses). You pay USPS rates for your first capsule and only $1.90 for any additional ones, so it's a good idea to order in bulk once you've created the cereal of your dreams.

I'm slightly allergic to nuts. I love cereal, but my choices are so limited by my allergy. Till now.

Iomoi Paperweights

Paperweights are, unless you work in a wind-tunnel, essentially useless objects in terms of functionality. This is all the more reason that their selection should be based entirely on appearance; their real function is as a sort of desktop art object. The customizable paperweights from iomoi stationery provide you with a huge array of designs to choose from and can be personalized with initials or a few select words. And how can you resist a paperweight with a cute cupcake on it? Price: $65 for round weights, $40 for oval.

Stave Wooden Puzzles

These are not your grandmother's jigsaw puzzles, either in materials or design. Stave Wooden Puzzles are carefully handcrafted - cut, sanded and polished - by a master craftsman. They have a huge inventory of images in stock, but can also make custom puzzles out of photographs, for example, so the piece will really have sentimental value on top of simply being a work of art. Prices range from about $200 to thousands, depending on the level of customization, the number of pieces and the size of the puzzle. They also carry several designs that are ready for immediate shipment if you need a gift right away. The Bubbles Puzzle, pictured, is priced at $417 online.

Get Your Coach Bag Monogrammed

It never hurts to add a personalized touch to favorite luxury items - or to any item at all, for that matter - and the designers at Coach know this. This fall, they have introduced a service with their fall Signature Stripe collection that will allow you to add your own "signature" to the bag in the form of a monogram with one, two or three letters. The bags all have Coach's signature logo fabric, lether trim and a bold accent stripe. The monogramming is only $25, and the bags range in price from $58 for a wristlet to $400 for a large tote. All of the custom bags can be ordered online or in stores.

The Most Expensive Keyboard

The Maltron keyboard is perhaps the most expensive keyboards we've seen to date, and with good reason. These keyboards are handmade and designed to be highly efficient. A traditional keyboard, for example, generally only makes use of 8 of the 10 fingers, with thumbs occasionally being employed to work the space bar and, depending on the size of your keyboard, one or both of the pinkies may be infrequently utilized, as well. This design requires the use of all 10 fingers, theoretically improving your overall efficiency by as much as 20% - once you take the time to adjust to it, of course. The real reason why the keyboard is so expensive is the type of key switches that it uses: Cherry MX switches. Considered to be the best in the industry, they should last up to 50 million keystrokes and require far less force to work than ordinary computer keys, saving wear on they keyboard and on the hands of the typist. Price: $490.

LG Designs Keep Cool

We've already seen LG's designer washing machines, but who knew that they made designer air conditioners, too? TheDesignWeblog first spotted these and they're even cooler - literally - than the washing machines. The Art Cool Air Conditioning units offer changeable panels, in addition to plain designs and the Van Gogh pictured here, that allow you to customize the appliance. The air conditioners are slim, wall mounted and release air through mini-slits, not sending out a jet of freezing wind into the room and eliminating hot and cold spots while keeping things cool. The design makes it one of the quietest air conditioners in the world. It includes an air-purification system, timer, temperature display and a noncooling dehumidification mode.  The units are priced around $1500, but the price varies by specific model, so it's best to track down a dealer if you're interested.

Doggie PhotoTreats

I've seen plenty of cakes and cookies that get pictures printed onto edible icing. They're a huge hit at birthday parties, weddings, etc. I've never seen the technique used on doggie treats before, but that is precisely what they do at My Dog's Bakery. Doggie PhotoTreats are customized with the name and photo of your dog on each biscuit. They come in Salmon and Roast Beef & Potato flavors, made using all-natural ingredients and the piped-on frosting includes carob, not chocolate. The pricing is $4 for one, $10 for 3 and $16 for 6. The bakery also mentions on their website that they plan to introduce doggie-friendly cakes.

Of course, the company says that the art is for your dog, but I think we can all agree that it's really for the owner. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but Fido cares more about the taste of the cookies than what they look like.

Le Bijou Hand-Painted Sinks

Le Bijou's hand-painted sinks can add a new level of personalization to your bathroom. Sinks that feature unusual designs, exotic shapes or are finished in luxury materials, like marble or gold, can give you an elegant look but remain impersonal because they only make a vague statement about who you are. Le Bijou's sinks have designs that range from understated sketches to bold nautical scenes. There is a tropical monkey, a starscape that would be perfect for a child's room, and soft vineyard patterns. There is even a Seabiscuit sink. The designs can all be customized to suit your personality or tastes and the company offers hand-painted tubs to match.

Seven Cycles IMX: a Titan in Titanium

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos

I am grateful to the aerospace industry for so many things: Airbus, NASA, SkyMall magazine ...

But I am especially grateful to the aerospace industry for its use of titanium, the space-age metal that used in airplane construction. Simultaneously unbreakable, indefatigable, corrosion-proof and ultralight, titanium is also totally dope.

Equally dope is Seven Cycles of Watertown, Massachusetts, which has been making bicycle frames from titanium since 1997.

With summer around the bend, I've got a jones for the IMX, Seven's flagship  titanium/carbon mountain bike. The frame alone is $3,395. Steep, yes. But think of it like the two-wheeled equivalent of a tailor-made suit.

That $3,395 includes custom sizing, yes, but it also includes dialed-in custom handling and ride characteristics (do you want Cadillac comfortable? Formula-1fast?). Decal choice is also part of the deal, as is making sure the frame is compatible with the exact components you choose.

In other words, the aerospace-quality bike frame you get is an honest-to-god one-of-a-kind.

Can you say that for a Boeing 747? I didn't think so.

Polder Sofas

The modern-looking Polder Sofas get their name from the Dutch name for the artificial land built up around dams and canals. The land is flat and low-lying, as are the Hella Jongerius-designed couches. Each is upholstered in a combination of five slightly different colored fabrics, giving the couches an unusual, building block appearance, as though the pieces simply happened to fit together. The frame is wood, with cushions and upholstery in microfibers and polyester wool and filled with polyurethane foams. The sofas are all custom made and are available with the armrest on the right or the left side. Colors include green, cream, red, dark brown and anthracite. Prices start at $8,750 for the large sofa, $9,450 for the xxl version. Shipping is included.
