Filed under: Jewelry, Wheels, Men's Style

UK-based TMB Art Metal is launching a limited edition set of cufflinks handmade from metal taken from the Aston Martin DBR1 race car that won Le Mans and the World Sportscar Championships in 1959. TMB's exclusive Aston Martin DBR1/2 Essence of Form links are crafted using original pieces of aluminum body panel removed from the the famous car that was driven by Carroll Shelby, and was victorious with Sir Stirling Moss behind the wheel in the 1959 World Sportscar Championship. Two versions of the cufflinks, with arms and drivers made of solid 18ct gold, are being issued accompanied by certificates of authenticity signed personally by either Shelby or Moss. Each version is limited to just 50 pairs worldwide, priced at £1,795 or about $3,000 each. The winning Aston Martin, one of the most famous cars in the world, is today believed to be worth around $25 million.

James Bond Items on Offer in Pop Culture Auction

Daniel Craig's aviator sunglasses designed by Tom Ford for last year's Quantum of Solace (above) are among a collection of James Bond items in Christie's London's Vintage Film Posters and Entertainment Memorabilia auction on Nov. 24. The shades, estimated at £1,000 - £1,500, are among the more modern 007 mementos in the sale, along with a poker table chair and barstool graced by Mr. Craig's derriere in 2006's Casino Royale, estimated at £1,000 - £1,500. On the vintage front there are some key items from 1974's The Man With the Golden Gun, such as a two-piece black silk evening suit made for Roger Moore for the film, offered at £3,000 - £5,000. Also from that film are the arch villain Scaramanga's custom triggers for the golden gun itself, made in the form of cufflinks which he used to assemble the lethal weapon, estimated at £2,000 - £3,000. On offer as well are a pair of black leather of Salvatore Ferragamo dress shoes worn by Moore in 1977's The Spy Who Loved Me, signed on the inside in gold ink along with a jocular note from the actor, for £800 - £1,200.

Fluid Forms Cufflinks Keep You Close to the Land

fluid forms cufflinksWe're not sure why you'd want a topographical map etched on a set of sterling silver cufflinks. However, like the judiciary, if it's legal then we don't need to concern ourselves with your intentions, and neither, for that matter, will Fluid Forms. The Austrian company will be glad to etch a section of the huge prairie deal you just closed in Montana -- or that Arcadia to which you and Mary Jane retired after senior Prom -- onto a small sliver of 925 silver for some 'links, a brooch, even a pendant.

And because, like the Earth, you're made of many things, Fluid Forms' work isn't limited to corporeal jewelry in silver. If it can be rendered in three dimensions, they can probably fashion it. Their Serene Salt & Pepper Shakers are particularly intriguing, the QR barcode belt buckles are a geek fashionista's dream, and they make Earth Bowls that look like they do their best work supporting your fruit collection. If you'll excuse us, we're going to see if we can have them create a topographical map of... Mary Jane...

Jan Leslie Sterling & Enamel Bee Cufflinks

Here's a whimsical wardrobe addition from men's jewelry and accessories designer Jan Leslie: hand-painted enamel and sterling silver bee cufflinks. Recently introduced at Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus, the luxe links have become an instant bestseller at $595 a pair. In Leslie's sterling silver hand-painted enamel collection, which also features designs such as racecars, jockeys and spiders, artisanal methods produce unique works of quality and understated elegance. Leslie's creative process begins with the study of the actual subject - insect, animal or otherwise; next a wax prototype is sculpted then cast in sterling silver and polished smooth. The creation is then individualized through a technique of meticulously hand painting layers of enamel, creating the desired blend of color and luminescence. The overall process "transforms a simple statement into a commissioned piece of art."

Yael Sonia "Solo" Designer White Gold Men's Cuff Links

The designer Yael Sonia is open about the fact that many of her jewelry and accessory designs are inspired by classic children's toys. This inspiration is particularly evident in her "Perpetual Motion" line of products that each have an enhanced sense of visual interest and charm through the presence of a continually shifting component in the items. In this case, Yael Sonia takes a men's staple accessory and adds a caged orb to the look.

These are the "Solo" men's cuff links. Crafted from 18k white gold, each cubic cuff link is constructed like a cage for a perfectly rounded light purple amethyst gem stone. The whole point is that the spherical stone has room to jostle around a bit – perpetually moving with your actions. The result is an innately satisfying addition to what can normally be stale business attire. Yael Sonia products are available in her boutique shop located on Madison Avenue in New York City. Retail price for these white gold "Solo" cuff links is $3,072.

Slane and Slane Six Strand Pearl NecklaceSlane & Slane makes beautiful, elegant jewelry which adds instant grace and sophistication to almost any outfit.

The Six Strand Pearl Necklace at right is currently a bestseller on NeimanMarcus.com -- and it isn't hard to see why. The natural cultured Chinese freshwater pearls are exquisitely interlaced with the varying silver chains, creating an opulent, modern look. The edginess of the chains makes the piece youthful, and the perfectly imperfect pearls make it beautiful. You can purchase one for just $950, which is surprisingly reasonable for pearls of this standard and design of this caliber.

Below are images of some of our favorites from Slane & Slane's latest collection. Keep them in mind for your next special occasion -- we especially recommend the cufflinks for men!

King Skull Cufflinks

Looking at the creepy little silver faces on these King Scull Cufflinks by Tateossian makes me feel like giggling. I'm pretty sure that wasn't the intent, considering they're scowling and all, but something about the looks on their faces and the way they're wearing their little crowns makes me feel bad for them, like maybe they're a pair of nerdy sculls trying too hard to be cool.

They're made of sterling silver, goldtone, and cubic zirconia, and I can't even begin to guess what kind of suit or event these would belong best at. $250

Cody Bradon Cufflinks

Sometimes I worry that French cuffs are going to become an artifact of a more graceful age, therefore it's exciting to know that today's young designers still have an interest in cufflinks. Cody Bradon is a new brand started by a couple of friends attending Parsons School of Design in New York, NY. Their mission is to reinvent the classic man with a modern twist. Their first collection of silver cufflinks is done is a style they call Streamline Moderne, a nod to Art Deco styles of the past. Each cufflink style is named after an example of Streamline Moderne design from the past and features gemstones set in sterling silver. The cufflinks sell for $25 to $35.
