Thakoon Draped Collar Coat

The classic beige trench coat is completely revamped with the magical touch of fashion design star Thakoon. His Draped Collar Coat ($1090) takes the essence of a traditional trench coat and infuses it with a modern and unique twist that is very appealing.

Made from a mix of virgin wool, mohair, alpaca and a hint of nylon, the Draped Collar Coat boasts a dramatic and oversized relaxed collar (which exposes reversed twill), a curved hem that drops in the back, and crochet lace trim at the collar, opening, sleeves, hem and along the belt.

Missoni Silk Knit Sweater

Layering is key for surviving in transitional weather. It allows you to be prepared and comfortable no matter what you may encounter. While you'll need a little extra time to figure out what to wear, without looking like you just threw anything on that would provide warmth, it's worth the extra minute or two.

Missoni's Silk Knit Sweater ($450) would serve as a fashionable layering piece. Made with lightweight silk knit in a rose and coral shade, you can pair with a long sleeve shirt or a tank depending on the weather.

I especially like the unexpected pop of color given by a vibrant coral strip running along the side. The batwing sleeves are full with a scalloped edge with a cream trim along the bottom. Thankfully, Missoni's oversized sweater has a belt, which will offer you some shape.

I'm loving crochet this season, and although it has a tendency to look a little fallish and even wintery this version, by Chloé, is very spring and summer appropriate. Missoni Crochet Sun Hat

My daughter has gotten me completely into hats for the summer. After a month of talking about a particular had she wanted, she finally got her white straw fedora hat with a black sequin ribbon. It looks adorable on her. But I know for certain that I could not pull off a white fedora as well as my 9 year old. Luckily, Rigel has covered a beautiful collection of fedoras by Robert Gellar that I love. Classic, stylish and made for travel – perfect! So, in addition to the versatility of fedoras, sun hats are also a great summer accessory. The Crochet Sunhat by Missoni ($159) is a colorful sunhat that may not look like your go-to fashionable accessory, but for some reason I keep getting drawn back to this hat. And it looks like many other people have been drawn to the Missoni hat as well because in the past few days since I've come across it, it has sold out. I love the color scheme and the large brim to block the sun. This would look great paired with a maxi dress and sandals for the days when you are strolling through the park or leisurely walking through the city.

I, for one, don't think there's enough crochet in the world of fashion. It's a bit of a lost art. Dolce & Gabbana must think so too because they've come up with this pretty Miss Helen Crocheted Shopper as part of their Spring 2010 collection. It features pretty crochet over lambskin leather and has two pairs of long leather tassels and a set of mixed-metal chains draped over the front for a nice contrast of old-fashioned and modern. A great way to incorporate a chunk of black into your spring ensemble. $1,895.

Mandeville Lamp

Crochet tables seem to be enjoying some degree of popularity this year, though more often than not they can look rough and more appropriate as outdoor furniture unless you're going for a "shabby chic" look. The Mandeville Lamp manages to capture the use of negative space in the same way as those hole-filled tables, but with a much cleaner look. It is smooth, elegant and does not over-do the design. Aside from the fact that this bag bears a strong resemblance to the Barbarella Sofa, the Crochet Frame Bag from Miu Miu is a cute addition to their fall/winter line. The bag is covered in crocheted, creme lambswool, for a soft feeling and a look of warmth that will add a touch of comfort to an outfit on a cold and blustery fall day. All of the leather detailing has a golden metallic finish and, despite the fact that the top handle and frame look as though they conceal a snap closure of some kind, it actual has a convenient zip top. The shoulder strap is removable when you want to carry the bag in-hand. Price: $1,050.
