Man Finds 2.3-Carat Diamond In Arkansas

Crater of Diamonds State Park in Arkansas is the only place in the world where visitors are allowed to keep any of the diamonds that they find there. You wouldn't expect it to turn out a lot of large stones, but visitors sometimes get lucky and Gary Dunlap of Jefferson, Arkansas was one of them. Dunlap uncovered a 2.3-carat diamond. As impressive as that sounds, it is actually only the 4th largest found at the park in the last year. He named it the Star of Thelma, after his wife.

Other stones recently uncovered at the park included a 5.47-carat canary diamond, a flawless 4.21-carat canary diamond and a 2.18-carat white diamond.
