Yoku Moku Cigares

Yoku Moku Cigares are some of the finest butter cookies that you can find. The ultra-thin and crepe-like, the delicate cookies are rolled up into cigar shapes and individually wrapped, with the logo on their packaging centered like the ring on a real cigar. The purpose of the shape is to provide some support for a very delicate cookie and to make sure that you get some crunch when biting into it, before the cookie melts away in your mouth into a rush of butter and vanilla flavor. A box is only $22 and contains 20 cookies, but even though they can be stored for several months, it is a challenge to make them last a week.

Mother's Day Cookies

I covered Cheryl & Co.'s Saint Patrick's Day cookies back in March, and now that there's another holiday coming up, they've some more specialty cookies.  The gift box pictured left is decorated with a half dozen silk roses, but doesn't have any of the frosted cookies.  I can't bash the non-frosted treats because I haven't had them, but I can't imagine that they're better than their extra sugary counterparts.  Any mother would love cookies, unless of course, she's diabetic.  Prices range from $19.95 (pictured) to $94.95 for 100 frosted heart-shaped cookies.

Black and Whites from Dean and Deluca

High on the list of things missed most by New Yorkers when they take up residence in another state is the Black and White Cookie. The cake-like consistency of the cookie and the smooth, sweet chocolate and vanilla icing combine to make one of the ultimate treats. As a gift for your favorite ex-New Yorker, or perhaps for yourself, consider getting a box of Dean & DeLuca's Black and Whites.  Black and Whites tend to be huge, since New Yorker's like things big, but the Dean and Deluca cookies are normal sized and packed in a box that fits two dozen. The cookies are a perfect version of the New York classic - tasty as well as beautiful to look at. If you can't eat them all at once, they freeze beautifully, but if you invite a friend over to share them, you might not have any leftover. Price: $30.

Cheryl & Co St. Patty's Cookies

With St. Patrick's day coming up and all, now would be a good time to tie in my love of cookies and luxury.  My roommate received some Cheryl&Co. Valentine's cookies last month, and now the cookie maker has St. Patty's cookies available from the site.  They're a touch on the expensive side at over a buck a treat, but they're some of the best cookies I've ever eaten.  Oh, and don't bother with the not-frosted ones, you'll just be pissed that they're taking up valuable space that could have been used for more frosted cookies.

Eleni's Oscar-Themed Cookies

Throwing an Oscar party? Eleni's cookies, a New York bakery does a whole series of Oscar-themed cookies each year. There is the Best Picture series with little cowboy boots (Brokeback Mountain), cars (Crash), Olympic rings (Munich), TVs (Good Night and Good Luck) and books (Capote). Even more adorable are the cookies with the faces of the nominees for Best Actors and Actresses. The nominee sets sells for $58.50 each and include three sets of nominees and a set of envelope cookies. I can't even bear to chomp the head of a chocolate Easter bunny, I'm not sure I could bite into the charming face of Heath Ledger.
