Ulysse Nardin Lady Diver Watch New Colors For 2011

This is possibly one of the best values in a women's jewelry watch. For about $15,000 you get a gold watch with diamonds, a nice mother-of-pearl dial, and a Swiss mechanical movement. It helps that it is pretty fun looking as well. For 2011 Ulysse Nardin adds a few new colors to their Lady Diver watch collection. Colorful watches are a big deal this year as well. Seen here are purple, red, and blue version of the watch.

For me the color trend is interesting. It used to be that a high-end item needed to look really serious. As though to spend a lot of money you needed feel some elated sense of purpose. At some point people got a lot less scared when it came to charging a lot for an item and realized that people with money will pay for nice looking fun things. It doesn't matter than you can get a pink watch for $50 or $50,000 - it is all about how the buyer feels when they get it and wear it. For that reason I think it is OK to have a baby blue luxury watch.

The Ulysse Nardin Lady Diver watch is 40mm wide (large for a lady's wrist). Inside the watch is a UN-810 automatic movement. The dial has a wave texture on it, and diamond hour markers. While the dial is actually a bit simple, it is legible and does help keep attention on the design of the case. There are more diamonds on the bezel and still more on the middle lug section. If these colors are too much for your tastes but you still like the Lady Diver, there are more simple toned white or black version - and those with different dials. Look for the 2011 Lady Diver blue, red, or purple watches soon.

The Importance of Color in Interior Design

Although there's no hard and fast science that says everyone will react in a certain way to a certain color, there is something very real about the psychology of color and no doubt that certain colors tend to elicit certain emotions, moods, and even physical feelings. Because of this impact choosing the right colors for your interior design scheme is about so much more than just which swatches and samples you think look pretty together.

Warm vs Cool
Colors are divided into two groups: warm and cool. Reds, yellows, and shades of orange are warm colors and are known to stimulate and excite, while blues, greens, and purples are cool colors because they have a relaxing and calming affect. In general warm colors work well in places where there should be activity and interaction, like the kitchen and living room, and cool colors are most appreciated in rooms where the aim is relaxation and calmness, like the bedroom and bathroom.

That's not to say you can't mix things up and put a relaxing color somewhere busy -- my mom has green in her living room and it's still the lively hub of the house, although I do find the walls relaxing to look at. Here are some basics about each of the major color groups:

Dream Light Chromatherapy

Wow, I realize it could just be the photography but this shower looks positively dreamy. Which is quite appropriate considering it's called "Dream Light." It's a chromatherapy rain canopy from Jaclo Industries that's designed to take the standard relaxing power of a shower and turn it up a notch with the emotional and soothing power of color. It's made of a stainless steel sheet in round, rectangle, or cube shapes with programmable LED lights that illuminate the water as it falls.

Thalassor Baleina Whirlpool Tub

Talk about a great way to relax -- just looking at this Thalassor Beleina Whirlpool Tub makes me feel a little less stressed. It must be the sweeping sculptural tub design, coupled with the raised faucet that makes the whole thing feel a little like you're sitting in a fountain. But most fountains don't have massage jets, hydrojets, and a chromotherapy system that offers 512 colors (that's ridiculous!) for an experience that is absolutely and completely tailored to exactly what you need. Can't get better than that!

The Fandango Sectional is the couch of choice for those who don't want to shy away from bold colors and enjoy rearranging furniture in a room as though each piece was part of a puzzle; this couch is made to be rearranged and fits together in several interesting ways. The eye-like centerpiece can be used as an ottoman, a seat extension or even as a table, for example. As flamboyant as the name, the couch comes in any of over 100 different color combinations and is made to order. You can select from leather (add $900) or microsuede, which is still a very popular material at the moment. Price: $2,999.

Paul Smith Mini Car Messenger Bag, Handbag of the Day

As though to prove that fun bags aren't just for women, Paul Smith has released this bright, funky men's Mini Car Messenger Bag. The bag is made of canvas with leather trim and features a photo screen print of a multi-striped Mini Cooper in front of a lively casino. Bright colors aren't limited to the exterior of the bag, either. The lining of the messenger is a rich purple cotton canvas. It has one slot and one zip pocket to organize all your things the next time you are making a trip out to Las Vegas or down to Atlantic City for the day. It measures a roomy 19 x 12 x 4.75-inches.
