Broadmoor Hotel Offers Cottage Option
Filed under: Luxury Travel & Hotels

The Broadmoor resort in Colorado Springs had created a new stay option for those looking for a little more privacy, a collection of cottages. The Broadmoor Cottages are five eight-room cottages plus a sixth four-room unit measuring up to 6,300 square feet. The interiors have parlors with high-beamed ceilings and fireplaces. For entertaining there are two outdoor venues, a 400 sq ft patio near a large outdoor fireplace and a far larger 4000 sq ft patio near the tennis courts which can be used for weddings. Most units have views of the 18th fairway with the backdrop of Cheyenne Mountain.
The $18.5 million cottage project is designed to be more casual than the main resort but still equally luxurious. Rooms can be rented out individually or a whole cottage can be rented (for over $7,500 a night) to entertain entire families and larger groups. The Colorado Springs Tribune points out that the Broadmoor has found that its convention business is off by 20 percent this year. The cottages are one way to help attract new guests to the hotel. In addition to golf, the resort bustles with summer activities such as mountain biking, horseback riding, fly fishing, rock climbing and even hot air balloon rides.
