Just in time for spring and summer, Cole Haan has recently introduced their Cole Haan FLX Collection, which is designed to infuse comfort and durability with well styled accessories for men and women. All of the Cole Haan FLX shoes have NIKE AIR Technology in the heel for added cushioning and comfort as well as a lightweight and flexible rubber sole allowing you to walk in a more natural motion. Cole Haan Suede Shoulder Bucket, Handbag of the Day

The leaves on the trees may have turned to red, yellow and gold, but this mossy green bag will warm things up nicely. What could be cozier than a soft suede bag trimmed in deep chocolate leather? This bucket-style bag has a simple adjustable shoulder strap and two smart-looking front pockets. Other than the brushed nickel hardware on the pocket trim and strap, the only embellishment to be found is the woven strip of leather up the front. Cole Haan - Paige Collection vs. Aerin Collection

While perusing through Cole Haan's site, I came across the Aerin Collection, their new collection for the Fall, which of course you can pre-order and receive by August 20th. What concerned me is that their Large Convertible Tote from the Aerin Collection (seen on the left) looks a lot like the Convertible Tote from their Paige Collection (seen on the right). Luxist featured the Paige Tote back in December 2006. And its an awesome bag, I use mine pretty much every day and it works well for traveling too. But why release the same back under a new name? If anyone knows the difference between these two bags please share because to me, they look exactly the same with the exception of one having a semi glaze finish and the other doesn't. And with a price difference of $25 and extra hoopla surrounding a new collection to arrive for the Fall, I wonder if this is a smart move on the part of the advertising & marketing team of Cole Haan? How can a company re-issue virtually the same bag and not think that customers will be upset and perhaps disappointed that the "new Fall Collection" is really a revamping of collections from the past? Perhaps it would have been better to actually feature a new collection with new designs. Just a thought.

I am a glutton for red accessories - whether a bag, pair of shoes, a belt, rubies - I love them all. The right shade of red can add the subtle touch of color to brighten up and add life to an outfit that may have worn out its welcome long ago. Not only are the Cole Haan Cassidy Boots ultra fashionable and sexy, without feeling like a lady of the night, but they feature Nike Air Technology to provide extra cushioning for your feet. The Paige Collection is one of my favorite accessory lines from Cole Haan. I find that particular line to have timeless appeal while still reflecting the trends of today. Made of leather with hand crochet leather detailing, the Paige Crochet Clutch emanates the balance of sophistication with everyday casual use. Who says you have to lug around a over-sized tote to be fashionable? The summer is being on the go, soaking up the sun and not having to carry around so much stuff. Cole Haan Village Hobo, Handbag of the Day

This bag has a bit of a hippie vibe. From the Village Collection, the leather hobo sports a perforated, scrolled fern design on the front and and visible stitching all around. The back of the bag features a gold tone logo plaque and the interior is lined in natural canvas. With an inset zipper closure at the top, the bag also has all the necessary pockets: zip, patch and cell-phone. The whip stitched shoulder strap has a 10 inch drop and the bag itself measures a roomy 17 inches. On sale now for $237.

I've compared Cole Haan's woven leather looks to Bottega Veneta before and this latest hobo from the Vivian collection has a similar appeal but the uses of different styles of weaving creates a more distinctive style. This bag come in chocolate or natural and uses woven multi-color leather for a more casual look. It has a handwoven tassel detail, covered hardware in antique brass and a woven shoulder strap. The interior is lined in linen and has an cell and PDA pockets. It sells for $450.

The Large Drawstring Tote from Cole Haan is a great choice for a weekend bag, as it is more than large enough to hold a change of clothes for a quick overnight, though it will certainly work well as a casual day bag, as well. Made of soft leather in either burnt orange/tan (pictured) or black, the bag measures 20"W x 11"H x 8"D and has thick, flat shoulder straps that make it comfortable to carry.
