The deep bottle green color is what attracted me to Cole Haan's Large Paige Convertible Tote because it is fairly uncommon, with most designers favoring neutrals, blacks and other standards for their large bags. The bag is made of soft, supple leather and has shoulder strap that converts this from a day bag to one that is a little more convenient for traveling or just for carrying a laptop around. It has a magnetic snap closure at the top opening, just above the cinching belt, and two small zip pockets on the front in addition to several small interior pockets. The tote measures 17" L x 14 1/2" W x 6" D. Price: $425.

Cole Haan Wine Tote

The weave of this leather wine tote might have you thinking its a Bottega Veneta but it actually comes from Cole Haan's new gift collection. Their wine toe is created of woven milled vachetta leather with magnetic handles and artisan box stitch detail. It holds two bottles and can easily be flattened. The tote has a nylon lining and sells for $98.

Need a casual jacket for fall? Cole Haan's Suede Baseball Jacket seems perfect for keeping the chill off and looking sharp in general. The jacket is lightweight and made of soft, supple suede with an acrylic/cotton knit lining. It has a form-fitting, elegant cut that makes it suitable for general wear, as well as for wearing out to an informal dinner or to late night party, but it is kept from looking too dressy by the raw edges. The jacket zips up the front and has a barely-there collar. Honestly, it looks best when it is left open, but this is the kind of jacket that will be flattering to almost anyone. Price: $495.

If any guys felt left out of the top ten spring totes picks, you can stop feeling sorry for yourselves. There are plenty of designers who cater towards men and many of them do design totes that are just for the guys. This Cole Haan Beach Tote is new for the spring and a great way for guys to carry their gear around. As the name suggests, it is a good choice to take to the beach. Though neutral in color, the jacquard and leather trimmed tote has a print that is reminiscent of eucalyptus leaves to give it some interest. The zip-top closure keeps the bag secure, so it could even be used on a quick overnight getaway. Price: $250

A good tote bag is a summer essential. Why? People seem to carry around a lot more in the summer.
