Erich Ginder Mansion Chandelier

It may look like intricately carved wood, but this magnificent chandelier is actually made from laser-cut aluminum, glass and stainless steel. Halogen bulbs illuminate faux candles and the result is a glowing spectacle that is surely fit for a mansion. If you don't actually have a mansion in which to hang this chandelier, you will at least need a very large room as the fixture measures 3 feet across. Suspended by aircraft cables and available in several colors , this made-to-order chandelier sells for $3,700.

Calliope Luxury Chandelier

Described as both organic and mechanical, this Calliope Luxury Chandelier is beautiful for sure. It's made up of rectangular pieces of artistic rippled glass clipped by 100% recycled aluminum clasps to form a multicolored glittering sphere. Definitely a modern design, even futuristic, although has an certain natural appeal also. Some say it looks like a flower bud about to open, although that wasn't my first thought. Available from Eleek it can be customized in a variety of colors and/or patinas for a truly unique lighting experience. $15,800

Da Vinci LED Swarovski Crystal Chandelier

Not a chandelier for a timid room or for a timid decorator, the new Da Vinci LED Crystal Chandelier from Schonbek "puts on a dazzling light show." And it's no wonder, since it's both enormous (available in 3 foot and 5 foot diameters) and is made up of hundreds of Swarovski crystals illuminated by either halogen or LED lights from within. The different lighting options mean you can either have a gently glittering moon hovering over your party or (by switching to LED mode) bursts of brightly changing color instead.

It's gorgeous, but I'm sure there are few with a place to put it!

Prospetto Lighting Creazione Collection

This hanging chandelier light is definitely beautiful, but you also want to make sure you hang it somewhere where there's no danger of someone putting an eye out -- not a good choice to dangle low over a dining room table or buffet for instance. The Prospetto Lighting Creazione Collection consists of this lamp in a variety of colors (shown here in "fruit") as either chandelier or floor lamp styles in small, medium, and large sizes. Handmade of mouth-blown glass it looks like an explosion of party ribbons, perfect for a room that needs a touch of whimsy to lighten the mood. Priced at $8999.99 and up.

Cocktails and Lace Chandelier

Here's a unique take on reusing old wine glasses -- stick them together and make a lighting fixture! Created and handmade by designers Michael and Nora for Green with Glamour, the Cocktails and Lace Chandelier is beautiful and definitely draws the eye for more than just a quick glance. But something stresses me about seeing all those wine glasses strung up in mid-air in that haphazard way -- I can't help but imagine them all as tumbling down and about to shatter on the table or floor below (especially that last little one on the very end). Measures 35" x 15", $3250.

Jezebel Lazy Daisy Five Blossom Chandelier

This sparse but elegant chandelier is part of the Jezebel Signature line. With hand rolled and colored glass shades suspended from gracefully curving 'stems', the piece looks light and airy. This one is done with Black-eyed Susan glass and a brown finish on the hand-forged iron. If brown seems a bit dull, you can choose from a rainbow of other glass colors and bases to coordinate. The chandelier is 120" high by 89" wide and each one is signed and dated. $25,800

Pandora's Chandelier

Crystal is beautiful by its very nature, so I don't know that anybody could argue that Pandora's Chandelier isn't gorgeous, but there's more here than first meets the eye.

Designed by Fredrikson Stallard, the Pandora's Chandelier consists of thousands of Swarovski crystals individually threaded on motorized wires. What starts out as a very standard and traditional silhouette is soon morphed into something smeared and messy looking, before it quietly returns to repeat the cycle all over again. A little abstract art blended with shimmering hanging Swarovski.

Talanca Hanging Lamp

Andrew Hollingsworth specializes in historical and contemporary European design with an appreciation for clean lines and timeless form. Of his many beautiful lamps, this one stands out for its eclectic style.

The simple design of the Talanca Hanging Lamp allows light to wink through cut-outs in the ceramic shade, creating a sharp look that catches the eye. Available in silver, matte white or black, the lamp is made in France and measures 35.4 inches high by 13.8 inches in diameter.

Imagining this sleek beauty illuminating in your own living space? It can be yours for $1,650.

Add a Moroccan Glow with the Chandelier Mamounia

This Chandelier Mamounia is full of the richness and warmth common to most Moroccan decor, and each lantern is hand made of brass, tin, Moorish glass, and other elements. Light glows out from behind the colored panels and intricately designed hand punched details, which creates a look the website describes by saying "only when lit in a darkened room can their beauty be truly appreciated." I can totally see how that would be true!

Definitely not a piece that will go just anywhere, or with just anything, but if you've got the right place it could really "make" a room. $499.

Chandi Design Lily Chandelier

Chandi promotes the Lily Chandelier on their website, but if you just went by the images that they show of the piece, you might never know that the Swarovski crystal beads adorning it were available in any color you might want. Elle Decor pointed this out and presents a much more interesting version of the chandelier in this multi-colored creation. The chandelier measures 21" by 23" and has a shiny steel frame. With the custom bead coloring, the light fixture is priced at $3,410.

Palm Chandelier

The over-the-top Art Deco look of this Palm Chandelier is a bit kitschy, but is generally fantastic if you're looking for something really fun to dress up part of your home. It would look great in any room that has a slightly tropical feel, as well as anywhere you might have vintage-inspired 1920s-1940s era furniture. The French chandelier was made in about 1940 and is composed of mixed metals. It has six faux-candle lights. Price: $10,000.

Isa Chandelier

At a distance, the design of the Isa Chandelier seems to imply that it is made of metal, due to its dark color and simple design. The fixture is actually made of solid mindi wood, aged with a limed finish. The graceful lines of the chandelier end in electric candles, whose wires run through the beams and up the included 3-ft chain to the ceiling. It is a beautiful piece and ideal for someone who doesn't want the starkness of metal or the hunting-lodge look of a more rustic wood light fixture. Price: $2,350.

Rectangular Bronze Pillar Candle Chandelier

This Rectangular Bronze Pillar Candle Chandelier is different from the Palazzo T4 Chandelier in a number of ways, though they both are lit by candles. Most obviously, this is a bronze piece, not an acrylic one, but primary difference is that the candles are on this fixture are artificial. They are randomly shaped to mimic the look of real pillar candles, but the whole thing is wired with electric lights. This means that you never have to swap out candles or worry about fire safety, though you won't get the slight flickering warmth of a real flame, either. Price: $659.

It can also be disassembled easily for cleaning and storage. Made of frosted white or blue acrylic, it is candle-powered and requires no electricity.
