Las Vegas To Get A Nobu Hotel

Actor Robert De Niro, chef Nobu Matsuhisa and Tom Jenkin, President, Western Division of Caesar's Entertainment are posed above to celebrate the announcement that Caesars Palace Las Vegas will be creating the world's first Nobu Hotel at the Ceasar's Palace on the Las Vegas Strip. The Nobu Hotel will take over the existing Centurion Tower which will be renovated and redecorated and a 9,500-square-foot Nobu Restaurant and Lounge will open at the base of the tower. There is already an existing Nobu over at the Hard Rock Hotel. The hotel tower will have 180 guest rooms, 16 suites and a penthouse all of which will have an elegant minimalist Japanese makeover similar to the style of existing Nobu restaurants. No date has been given for the the opening of the hotel.

Restaurant Guy Savoy in Las Vegas Unveils New Truffle and Game Menus

Restaurant Guy Savoy at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas has unveiled a new white truffle menu, as well as a brand new menu featuring exquisite game, both of which are worth checking out if you find yourself in Las Vegas.

The Las Vegas eatery, which opened in 2006, is chef Guy Savoy's only location in the U.S. The restaurant has two Michelin stars to its name as well as being recently featured as a nominee for a Luxist Awards' Readers Choice award in the best domestic fine dining category.

The restaurant, which is a sister restaurant to Restaurant Guy Savoy in Paris (winner of the Readers Choice Award for Best International Restaurant) is currently featuring a La Truffle Blanche D'Alba menu which begins with Scallop Carpaccio served with a cauliflower puree. The thinly sliced scallops are seasoned simply with fleur de sel, white pepper and olive oil and just warmed under the salamander. The dish is topped with a scallop juice made from reduced scallop fumet, butter and white truffle paste. Fresh white truffles are grated tableside. The next course features a Pumpkin and White Truffle Soup with poached Egg (see gallery below). The soup is cooked in one part chicken stock to one part heavy cream. It is seasoned with white truffle paste and served with a slowly poached egg and freshly shaved white truffle. The presentation is quite the spectacle as it is ladled out of a 25 pound Fairytale Pumpkin, also known as the Cinderella pumpkin.

AskMen's Top Cities for Men in the U.S.

AskMen, the men's lifestyle site, has published a list of the Top 29 Cities to Live In for men. The AskMen experts ranked cities based on various criteria, including the percentage of university-educated women and lifestyle factors (such as the cost of a luxury automobile). Professional life factors were also considered, such as the number of vacation days guaranteed by law in each city.

Luxist and the Luxist Awards has featured many establishments located in each of the top ranking U.S. cities that made the AskMen list. Indeed, these cities are home to some of the country's best brew pubs, spas, dessert spots and places to go for a dip and play blackjack at the same time.

New York City (#1 on AskMen's List of the Top 29 Cities to Live In).

According to AskMen, there's no place on earth that makes men happier to be men than New York City. "The Big Apple is always reinventing itself and never fails to surprise us with what comes next," according to AskMen. "Since the financial crisis, the high-gloss bottle service bars have been replaced by cozy speakeasies, and designer tapas bars have been replaced by burgers and suckling pig, which is definitely a step in the right direction."

Caesar's Palace Delays Tower Opening

Another Las Vegas Strip hotel is cutting back. We first heard about Caesar's Palace's billion-dollar expansion back in 2007. The plans included an overhaul of the Forum tower, new meeting and convention space, three pool villa suites overlooking three swimming pools and the 660-room Octavius Tower, named in honor of Julius Caesar's heir, the emperor Augustus (the resort already has an Augustus Tower, Octavian was the name he had before he ascended to power). Harrah's Entertainment has decided to delay the opening of the Octavius Tower simply because the demand for rooms isn't there.The villas, convention space and expanded pool area will open as planned. The company will open the tower once demand picks up again. The news follows the report that CityCenter, MGM Mrage's monster project is now down one 400-room hotel. For the past few years the answer to making more money as a resort operator in Las Vegas was to have more rooms but with travel and convention spending down a new plan is needed.
