Precious Cachaca Sold At Christie's

Cachaça is certainly having its moment lately. The Moodie Report says that five rare bottles of Sagatiba Preciosa cachaça have just been sold for almost £2,500 at Christie's Brazil becoming the first cachaça to be sold at Christie's. The first bottle in a limited-edition numbered bottling of the 23-year-old liquor sold for £550. Each bottle comes in a handcrafted Brazilian wood case. The Sagatiba Preciousa was distilled in 1982 and matured in European oak barrels. Less pricey versions of Satatiba are also available.
