Be A Gaucho For A Day

On the list of things I would like to be for the day, gaucho isn't at the top of the list but a new program in Buenos Aires actually makes it sound a bit fun. The Buenos Aires steakhouse, La Cabaña, is offering a 'Gaucho for a Day' program that includes full day excursions to a cattle ranch to experience life as a gaucho on the Argentinean pampas. It's basically the South American version of the American cowboy experience. The night before, guests will enjoy a dinner at La Caba?a, where they are given traditional gaucho attire of a beret, typical trousers called bombachas, a shirt, canvas and rope sole, alpargatas shoes and a scarf. The following morning, they are driven to one of two ranches, Estancia El Rocio, the more luxurious option which is designed for those looking for a laidback version of the cowboy life, or Estancia La Palmas, for those who want a whole day on the range driving cattle and eating a barbecue dinner with grilled meat in front of an open fire. The experience costs $500.

AGK Cabana Chair

Summer is on the way out, but here is one more pool-side chair before the weather makes it unpleasant to lie out in the sun all day. The AGK Cabana Chair is another piece from Andre Agassi's furniture line. The chair has a long-lasting woven synthetic rattan over an aluminum frame and all-weather upholstery, so there is no need to worry about how it will stand up to the elements. The canopy raises and lowers easily, allowing for just the right amount of shade or sun for one or two people. Price: $4,250.

Cabana Cachaca

cachaca cabanaIt's hotter in the U.S. than in Brazil right now, how about a Brazilian drink to cool off? Cachaca, the key ingredient in a delicious drink known as the caipirinha, is making a play for U.S. drinkers. Cabana Cachaca is a new cachaca with a sleek design to tempt the unfamiliar into testing it out. The liquor is fermented and distilled in Brazil directly from freshly pressed sugarcane. The spirit is distilled in small batches to create artisanal rum with a citrusy nose. Cabana Cachaca is now available in a variety of locations and will be availably nationally at the start of August. It sells $34.99 per 750-milliliter bottle. The question is do enough U.S. drinkers know about cachaca to make this a hit spirit?
