Australian/Malaysian automaker Bufori, which specializes in creating custom automobiles inspired by 1930s-era American coupes, has announced plans to introduce its new MKVI Luxury Saloon – soon to be christened with an official name as well – at the rapidly approaching Geneva Motor Show. If you thought Swiss companies like Rinspeed had the offbeat market cornered, think again.

Gerry Khouri, Managing Director and co-Founder of BUFORI said in a statement: "This new model marks an important milestone in the company's history. The MKVI is our first four-door saloon and we are excited at presenting this more contemporary interpretation of the BUFORI philosophy to the world."

Here's all we know about the saloon thus far: it will have a 6.1-liter V8 engine of unknown origin, rear-hinged coach doors and "endless customization options." We'll see the new Bufori for ourselves come March 2nd, in the meantime, click past the break for the official press release.

Bufori Cars

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos

A post on Born Rich, led me to this unique vehicle. This swoop-fendered car is known as a Bufori. The exotic cars are made in Malaysia and the company was launched 19 years ago by three Australian brothers. The cars get their inspiration from 1930s cars but include modern details like ergonomic adjustable seats, a satellite navigation system and Bluetooth telephone. The car shown here is the Bufori MKIII La Joya, a two-seater with a V6 engine and a five-speed tip tronic gear box. Inside, it's exactly what you would expect from a luxury car aimed at the ultra-monied:  glossy wood and soft leather with gold details on the dials.  It looks like they are available in the States with a base price of around $110,000.  An interior shot is after the jump.
