Breil Milano Automatics Collection Watch

It isn't often that Breil watches comes in mechanical form - but they do offer a few of these pieces in their "Automatics Collection." Newer there is this automatic version of the popular Breil Milano watch. It comes complete with its almost kinky looking strap (which is done in crocodile leather) with cross stitching on it, and a 45mm wide steel case in steel with some IP applied rose gold tone treatments on the bezel, as well as for the hour markers and the hands.

The designer treatment of the watch is interesting and will appeal to certain fashionista types. My personal preference for a more manly watch is the Breil Manta collection. At 45mm wide, the Breil Milano automatic is something that will appeal to men and some women who can bear the size. The brown and gold tones go smoothly together. I like how the pushers and crown are in brown as well.

Despite the chronograph subdials, the watch is pretty easy to read - though the watch hands should be longer. Oddly enough the text of the date and day of the week indicators seems to be in a different font. I do like the curved flange ring around the dial with the large applied hour markers that supplements in the inner dial. The watch has a sapphire crystal and is water resistant to 100 meters. Inside the watch is a Swiss ETA Valjoux 7750 automatic movement. Price is tad high for what you are getting, but is $2,625.

Time Will Tell: New Breil Milano Watches with Bling

breil milanoThe watch-word on watches is more is more. The new men's Manta watches from the venerable Italian company Breil Milano have the heft of your grandfather's pocket watch, but the look is vintage with contemporary accents. "We are known for designing watches that have a strong, bold personality," says Breil's owner, Marcello Binda who oversees the watch and jewelry creative team. For a sporty look, the Manta 1970 diver ($995) has a stainless steel case, a "turntable" rim and specific easy-to-read dials that measure seconds, minutes, and hourly intervals. The final touches are the addition of color and a heavy black rubber bracelet that adjusts easily to fit your wrist. If you like the look of this new chronograph, but prefer a stainless steel band, consider the Manta Time ($695), also Swiss-made and Italian-styled, but slightly more formal looking.

Women who desire star-attraction watches should consider one of Breil Milano's best and newest creations, a conspicuously large watch with a rim of diamonds and aquamarine stones plus all the bells and whistles of the men's chronograph. Manta Lady ($3,100) also has a feminine, cloud-blue croc strap and mother-of-pearl dials. If you are thinking of upsizing from your Rolex or Patek, this is the watch that announces a strong ego and a personal, confident, audacious style.
