Coldwater Creek Asks You To Try It On For The Cure

You can walk, run, bike or eat yogurt to help the fight against breast cancer but how about something a little more self indulgent? You can also try on clothes to help. Coldwater Creek is offering their semi-annual, nationwide "Try It On for the Cure®" initiative on Sunday, September 21st in every Coldwater Creek store across the U.S For every woman who enters a dressing room and tries on any apparel from Coldwater Creek at her local store on September 21st, Coldwater Creek will donate $1 to the local affiliate of Komen for the Cure. If you decide to buy, they will also donate 10 percent of the day's sales to the local affiliate of Komen for the Cure. During their last "Try It On for the Cure®" event in April 2008, Coldwater Creek donated over $100,000 to local Komen affiliates throughout the U.S.

Coach Announces New Breast Cancer Awareness Timepiece

Coach has sold watches in the name of breast cancer awareness in the past, but this year introduces its new Lexington Breast Cancer Awareness watch, its stainless steel face and chic pink leather band a timely reminder that it is indeed stylish to trumpet awareness on behalf of breast cancer.

The women's watch retails for $398, 20% of which will go towards the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Philip Treacy Hat For Breast Cancer

New Breast Cancer Awareness Jewelry

October is breast cancer awareness month and companies are already getting ready with pink merchandise. National Jeweler reports that jewelry designers Jane Basch and Andrea Candela are both debuting jewelry collections that will benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Jane Basch's latest collection is called "Tribute" and for every piece purchased from he collection Basch will contribute 5 percent to the Komen foundation.

Andrea Candela's limited-edition "Pink Ribbon" collection is made with sterling silver, enamel and stainless steel. It includes a bracelet for $50 and two pendants accented with a pink ribbon, for $100 each. A portion of each sale will also be donated to the Komen foundation.

Alexander McQueen Scarf For Breast Cancer Care

Lavender Trust, Charity of the Day

Lavender Trust is an charitable program that helps women dealing with breast cancer. What makes Lavender Trust different than all the other cancer care organizations, is their focus on a younger age group, they work primarily with women around the age of 30 who've been recently diagnosed. Programs are all free to the public and include a helpline, peer support and direct health care advice. Last year many celebrities generously donated dresses to an auction which raised funds to keep these worthwhile programs going. You can help support their cause by donating directly or by shopping at their fabulous online boutique, all proceeds go directly to Lavender Trust breast cancer support initiatives.

Mikimoto Pearls for Mother's Day

You can buy your mother Mikimoto pearls and help fund breast cancer support this Mother's Day. Mikimoto donates 20% of proceeds from Everything is Possible With Hope, a special collection inspired by the pink ribbon, to the Young Survival Coalition. The YSC is a non-profit network of breast cancer survivors and supporters dedicated to young women, pushing for an effective breast cancer screening tool for women under 40 and research and support for this younger population of breast cancer survivors.

The Hope sunglasses are also available in black and 25% of the proceeds go to the Susan G. Komen For The Cure campaign. There is a minimum guaranteed donation of $25,000. The sunglasses sell for $120.

Cleavage Creek Wine for Breast Cancer Research

Cleavage Creek is a pretty clever name for wines that raise money for breast cancer research. Owner Budge Brown lost his wife of 48 years to breast cancer in 2005 and is donating 10 percent of the gross profits to fund research to find an end to the disease. The line consists of eight wines to start with: 2005 Reserve Napa Cabernet Sauvignon, a 2005 Reserve Napa Petite Sirah, a 2005 Cabernet-Syrah, a 2004 Merlot, a 2004 Merlot-Syrah, a 2006 Reserve Chardonnay, a 2003 Secret Red and a 2006 Secret White. There are 2000 cases for sale the first year. Each bottle features a breast cancer survivor whose story is told on the bottle. Budge Brown plans to also create a tasting room and wine shop in the Cleavage Creek vineyards in Napa. The wines are in the $18 to $50 range. Information on each wine is below in the gallery.

Pink Tractor for Charity

Breast Cancer Awareness month is over, but AGCO Corporation/ paired up with NBC's "Deal or No Deal" to make one last minute charitable effort, raising money for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. They are auctioning off a special edition pink Massey Ferguson tractor - a departure, to say the least, from items that are more conventionally auctioned for charity. It is autographed by host Howie Mandel and has an MSRP of about $35,000. The auction began on October 31st and will run through November 11.

Little Pink Toolkit

Clearly, the way to make a tool kit more appealing to women is to turn it in to a fashion accessory - and if it happens to tie in with Breast Cancer Awareness month, so much the better. The Little Pink Tool Kit certainly is pretty in pink. The 10-piece general purpose set, where all the ergonomic tools come with matching pink handles, is packed up in a pink tote bag that can be carried about while making any small repairs without looking much different from an ordinary handbag. The site notes that a portion of the proceeds from each sale go towards breast cancer research, although it does not say what portion or how much will be donated. Price: $80.

David Yurman Breast Cancer Bracelet

During the month of October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, 20% of the proceeds from this pink opal and 18K gold bracelet will go to the Madison Avenue Pink Ribbon Project, supporting The Breast Cancer Foundation, Mount Sinai Hospital, and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Hospital. The bracelet sells for $1,290 and is backordered until the end of the month.

Mikimoto Breast Cancer Jewelry

akoya pearl necklace Another luxury way to honor Breast Cancer Awareness month, comes from Mikimoto. They have created new designs for their Everything Is Possible With Hope line which has raised thousands of dollars for charity. The 2006 collection includes an Akoya cultured pearl bracelet and necklace strung with pink silk thread with a ribbon charm in 18K rose gold and finished with a Mikimoto clasp in 18k rose gold and two Akoya cultured pearl and pink sapphire pins. This is the first time that Mikimoto has used a color other than that of the pearls being strung and the pearls give off a subtle pink hue. The 18K white gold ribbon lapel pins include pearls as well as pink sapphires. Prices start at $400 and 5% of the sales goes to breast cancer charities.

Riedel Pink Champagne "O" Tumbler

Riedel Crystal which offered a special glass last year, has created a Pink Champagne "O" glass to toast women whose lives have been affected by breast cancer. Unlike the other "O" glasses, the Pink Champagne glass sits on a ribbed hollow pedestal and the bowl is an elongated tulip shape. The glasses look a bit more like a pilsner glass than a champagne flute. A pair of Pink O Champagne glasses will retail for $27 with 15% of the wholesale price donated to Living Beyond Breast Cancer. The black box will be emblazoned with the breast cancer pink ribbon.

Car for a Cure

In partnership with Saks Fifth Avenue's Key for the Cure program, Mercedes Benz will be donating $1 million dollars to raise awareness for all women's cancers. The money will come from the sale of a limited number of Special Edition 2007 Mercedes-Benz E350 Sport Sedans. The car has a 3.5L V-6 engine, does 0 – 60 mph in 6.5 seconds and 268hp. It comes in Sienna Black metallic paint with a leather upholstery and maple wood trim and includes SIRIUS Satellite Radio, panoramic sunroof, headed seats and a hands-free phone system.
