The mother-of-pearl boxes shown here are created with the help of a team of master craftsmen and can take up to two months to complete. As many as 5000 tiny pieces of shell are hand cut, sanded, and mounted to each box before being covered in up to 9 coats of resin for an impeccable and glossy finish. Optic Storage Cubes

Similar in look to the container baskets they introduced a few months ago, Kartell's new Optic Storage Cubes are designed by Patick Jouin, made of a type of transparent plastic and come in a variety of colors. The jewel-like colors are further enhanced by the pyramidal relief pattern on the outside of the boxes. The interior of the boxes is smooth. The modular units, which can be stacked up to four high, are available with or without doors and can be arranged in any number of ways, whether you only need a single stack or want to fill up a wall. Each cube measures 41cm per side. Price: £119 without door, or £140 with door).

Getting endorsement from a certain hotel heiress is probably not doing anything for the reputation of the products, but the market for single-serving wines is growing by leaps and bounds. The wines are a great alternative to opening a whole bottle for occasional drinkers or those who only use wine in cooking. They're also more convenient to tote around to picnics and events than full-sized bottles. But some consumers feel that the small packaging, especially the cans and juice-style boxes, are ruining the elegance of drinking wine, despite the fact that better and better wines are being packaged this way. BZ Boxes

For collectors of fine watches, jewelry, pens or cigars, having elegant  cases is key. BZ Boxes are made by artisans in Brazil and use exotic woods. The internal structure of boxes are made of wood compound materials and the exteriors are done in real wood veneers or solid wood. The boxes with gold leaf use 18 karat gold and all the glass components, on the lid and inside mirrors are beveled. The boxes can be customized with a wide variety of details from wood choices to linings, engraved metal plaques or your initials in gold leaf. Each box has a serial number and a one year warranty. They are wholesale only with a minimum of ten boxes per order. The box shown here is a humidor with a removable cedar wood tray and hygrometer.
