Bowler bags are always so cute and this pudgy little number from See by Chloé is a perfect example. The Yate Bowler Bag is all about ultra soft black lambskin leather with slightly metallic silver contrast stitching in a loose geometric pattern. It has double top handles with stud details, "hardware tipped" leather bows at sides, and it closes on the top with a zipper. Also the inside is more fun than expected with several pockets on a bold leopard-print twill lining. It's oversized and super useful, and can be dressed to fit any number of styles. $595

The Burberry Small Check Shoulder Bag is a delightfully kicky new venture for Burberry.

This happily trimmed purse also comes in a cheery shade of red, which picks up the red line in the Burberry check quite handsomely -- but we couldn't resist featuring this sunny, yet autumnal yellow.

This retro bowler-shaped bag features a classy Burberry pleat adorned with a subtly hidden logo. We love the handles, so get rid of that shoulder strap if you don't absolutely need it. The Italian-made bag is 12"W X 8½"H X 5¼"D, just small enough to ensure that no one mistakes it for your work bag. The Pauric Sweeney Painted Stripe Python Bowler is a flashy new take on a classic.

This luscious python bag is 9 1/2"H x 15"W x 6"D -- doesn't it seem too pretty to be so roomy? Though it's eye-catching, it's remarkably neutral; a perfect complement for black, brown, grey or a color, and a equally fetching for a jeans day or a fabulous dinner date. The black, silver and brown python skin is accented with gleaming silvertone hardware and comfortable brown calfskin.

Perhaps the most extravagant detail of this clutch is the stripes. Those horizontal black lines are painted directly onto the python skin, giving the bag an artsy, customized look.

The Chloé Bowler Chain Handbag is a fabulously retro bag which will compliment this fall's speakeasy styles perfectly.

The chunky bag is 12" tall by 19" wide, with a "8" by 14" flat bottom" (does anyone else giggle when they read the measurements of a "flat bottom"?). That means it has space for your wallet, your camera, your portfolio and yes, even your bowling ball. In fact, this is the kind of bag that looks cuter with more stuff in it, so stuff away.

Using her own original silk fabric designs, Stephanie Waddell has created a lovely line of handbags that speak to my own love of color and pattern. This simply styled bowler is gorgeous in a blue and brown Lotus print trimmed in Italian leather. With such a striking print, there is little need for flashy hardware and the small touches of matte gold are just right. Inside, the bag is lined in suede and features and interior zipper pocket. The bowler is available in three other elegant prints and sells for $368.

It is made out of black jacquard fabric that features an all-over logo print and is accented with a metallic light-bronze leather trim. Marc Jacobs Quilted Metallic Bowler, Handbag of the Day

I've been seeing metallic bags popping up on the arms of all the celebrity fashionistas lately. While a large metallic silver bag makes a rather strange statement on a hot summer day, the bags themselves are quite appealing. Marc Jacobs Quilted Metallic Bowler is a striking example of a silvery bag. The mid-sized bowler (12.5" x 9 x 5 ) is made of quilted goatskin leather with shimmering gold hardware, including a trompe l'oeil push-lock accent, that adds a bit of flash to an already glamorous bag. A zip-top closure reveals a fabric-lined interior with a zip pocket, making storage simple, and protective metal feet have been added to the bottom of the bag to prevent scuffs. Price: $975.
