Boucheron Owl Ronde Seconde Folle Watch

Here is the best in my opinion of the Bestiary Ronde Seconde Folle Watch collection by Boucheron. Like the frog model the Owl continues with the "googly" eye theme where the Owl's eye located at 7 o'clock is a small disc for the seconds where the pupil moves around and rotates fully each minute. Dark purple tones allude to the night, where this watch model is most at home. The indigo color also works well with the 42mm wide 18k gray gold case and slightly darker gray tone of the owl character. Again, Boucheron uses diamonds and various colors of sapphires, rubies, and tsavorites to decorate both versions of the watch from the more subdued version to that where the owl takes over the face and bezel of the watch. The whimsy of the timepiece is almost Disney worthy.

Again, as is for the rest of the Bestiary Ronde Seconde Folle collection, inside is the Girard Perregaux GP 4000 automatic movement. It is about all you could hope for in a watch with beauty, humor, character, high quality construction, and a haute horology attitude. The right women will be so taken by the entire collection as to want all six models of the three animals; the Chameleon, the Frog, and the Owl. Likely available soon where Boucheron timepieces and jewelry are sold.

Boucheron Frog Ronde Seconde Folle Watch

The second watch of the new Boucheron Bestiary Ronde Second Folle collection is the Frog model, and it is even better than the Chameleon model in my opinion. Again you have two models - a more basic model and one with a pave diamond decoration and the frog's feet as well as a jeweled lily pad. Our friend the magenta amphibian is lackadaisical in demeanor with a silly yet satisfied look in his face. The complication of the seconds disc located as part of the frog's lower eye causes the pupil to spin as though the frog is constantly looking about. This is all part of the exclusive Girard Perregaux GP 4000 automatic movement made specially for Boucheron.

We don't know whether the frog is looking into the water and the sky is above him or vice versa with the frog looking into the sky from the water. Either way, the hand-done blue chalcedony over the white gold dial is a soft and artistic touch. The various colors of the frog and other elements combine diamonds, sapphires, and tsavorites. The watch case itself is 42mm wide in gray gold with a pink galuchat (stingray) strap.

Boucheron Chameleon Ronde Seconde Folle Watch

This is the first of three new women's Bestiary Ronde collection watches from Boucheron. Each is absolutely delightful. I am going to save the best for last, but each is quite well done. Each model comes in two varieties with more or less decoration. As you can see our chameleon friend can be had in plain sight or partially hidden behind foliage across the two models. The Ronde watches start with the GP 4000 automatic movement that is specially made by Girard Perregaux for Boucheron. The movement removes the traditional seconds hand instead placing a revolving disc at 7 o'clock. On this model, the disc has a small fly that moves around each minute eluding the chameleon's sticky tongue.

The cases are made in gray gold and are 42mm wide. A whole spectrum of jewels is utilized in creating the various colors of the reptile on both models, with the first model also enjoying a rich assortment of diamonds on the bezel and lugs. The collection is extremely whimsical. Boucheron itself calls the seconds disc "crazy seconds" and admits to the collection being quite tongue in cheek. For the right woman, these are the types of watches will produce a consistent smile all the time. Now when are they going to make men's watches like this?

Vertu Phones For Boucheron's 150th Anniversary

As we saw a couple months ago, to celebrate Boucheron's 150th anniversary, the jeweler is partnering with other companies to create some amazing pieces. Two years ago Boucheron and luxury phone maker Vertu created extravagant bejeweled snake phones. The seven signature phones each contain 388 mechanical parts and each has a removable jeweled charm. Each has a gold case and a different design of pavé jewels. No word on the price yet but they are assumed to be into the six figures at least.

Boucheron's Rugby Ring

The latest sport to get the high-end jewelry treatment is rugby. To celebrate the World Rugby Cup, Boucheron has created a special collection of jewelry inspired by rugby. Fashion Week Daily reports that the designs were made for for "L'Art Emmêlé 2007," a series of events organized around an art exhibition featuring pieces inspired by rugby. The designs include a version of Boucheron's MEC watch in pink gold with a rugby ball and a Diablotine women's ring in pink gold and green tourmaline which has been reshaped into a rugby ball. The rugby-inspired pieces will be auctioned off on October 18 at a gala dinner to benefit the Laureus Foundation, a non-profit organization that uses sports to help take on social issues.

Boucheron for Vertu Phones

They don't make them like this in the U.S. These crazy and beautiful phones are the Vertu phones created by Boucheron are going on sale in India. The phones feature ornate jeweled snakes, your choice of either a diamond-studded cobra or a python. Other phones in the Vertu Signature Diamond Collection come in gold and diamonds but only the Boucheron phones feature the snakes. The phone on the left is the limited edition Signature Cobra which sells for $350,000 and will only be cast in 8 pieces. I know, I know, it's wasteful, but wouldn't this be the ultimate phone to be carried by an villainess in a superhero movie?

Victoria Beckham Gets A Ruby Necklace For The Holidays

We mentioned a while back that David Beckham was getting a Rolls Royce Phantom for Christmas. What did he get Mrs. Becks? Female First says that David Beckham bought her a £1.2 million ruby and diamond necklace for Christmas. Victoria was reportedly thrilled with the Boucheron pendant which features large rubies and diamonds hanging on a ruby chain. Sounds like it weighs as much as the lady who will be wearing it.
