I don't have babies of my own yet but I don't let that hamper my love of shopping for cute little outfits, miniature shoes, and everything else they sell in the infants department. I love going to baby showers and the next time I get an invite I think I already know what I want to shop for: one of these useful and stylish designer feeding bottles with matching cases by Dolce & Gabbana. They're not the usual cutesy colors and patterns, which is a breath of fresh air, and instead feature animal prints and simple logo-based patterns. Definitely a nice way to treat both mom and baby to some designer luxury. $70-$80 D&G Designer Baby Bottles

How many times have you passed on a glass of wine because the kind you wanted was only sold by the bottle? The Japanese have a good thing going called "bottle keep" that takes care of that problem by allowing customers to drink what they want out of a bottle of wine and save the rest for later. The restaurant puts the customers name on the bottle and keeps it in the back until their next visit.
What an awesome way to make the most of a bottle of wine (not to mention impressing friends and family with the VIP treatment!). Obviously this idea isn't reserved only for the Japanese so now I'm be on the hunt for a restaurant that offers this service (or something like it) in my area.
Venini Bolle Bottles

There is something about these bottles that I find very peaceful and serene. Glowing bands of Murano glass are fused together to create a single vessel and the result is beautiful and calm. It is fitting that the technique used to join the glass is known as the Incalmo method. Designed in 1968 by Tapio Wirkkala for Venini, the gently curving shapes of the bottles are set off by vibrant swaths of red and green, subdued with softer shades of blue and gray. And that dash of lemon yellow keeps these mellow bottles from being too quiet. $7380 for the set of five.
Score One For Corks In The Screwcap Versus Cork Debate

We are back to talking about screwcap versus cork with wine closures. After I attended the Unified Grape and Wine Symposium I was pretty sure that the debate was over, screwcap was the future of the marketplace. But Decanter has some news that could change everything. According to recent tests conducted by Cairn Environment for Oeneo Bouchage in France, screwcaps produce the biggest carbon footprint. The production of screwcaps gives off far more CO2 than the production of both corks and synthetic closures.
Will this make a difference in how screwcaps are perceived by the world? With the increasing push toward green products this news could have an impact. Another thing that the article doesn't mention but that might also be a consideration is the recycling of wine closures. In that case I would suspect that cork might also come out ahead.
SIGG Skull Bottle
With Halloween coming up, not to mention all the other skull stuff that we've seen lately, it seemed worthwhile to mention this SIGG Skull Bottle. The Swiss-made aluminum bottle is unbreakable, very lightweight and 100% recyclable. The 24-oz. bottles are taste-neutral, so you can store any type of beverage in them. One final feature is that the skull glows in the dark, which might not be a selling point for a lot of adults, but would definitely make it a more appealing Halloween "treat" if you wanted to give the kids something other than candy. Price: $20.

Wine Knot
My grandmother has a wine rack that has been sitting in the darkest corner of her dining room for 20 years, and the only reason that it was moved then was that she moved to a new home. It's not an attractive piece of furniture and many wine racks are resigned to similarly dark corners - not for the benefit of the wine, but because they're unpleasant to look at. This Wine Knot, on the other hand, clearly qualifies as art. It is constructed of slotted pieces of birch plywood, stained light and dark and elegantly woven together, supported by stainless steel legs. It can hold six bottles, plus a magnum-sized bottle in the center star. Price: $98.
One Minute Drink Chiller
Why wait around for a cold drink on a hot
day when you can have one in minutes? The One Minute
Drink Chiller promises to take a room temperature can of soda down to an icy 38-degrees F in under one minute. It
can cool a bottle of wine down in just under 4 minutes, too. It is equipped with a sensor to automatically stop the
chilling process when your drink reaches the optimum temperature, so there is no risk of a frozen drink. The Chiller
includes a car adapter, so you can take it with you to picnics and tailgates. The capacity of the machine is only one
can or one bottle, so you will have to work one at a time, but as long as you start with your own drink, waiting for
any subsequent ones will not seem as bad. Price:
$99.95.
Modern Spirits Sipping Vodkas
To help answer Deidre's question about not-yet-tried vodka flavors, Modern Spirits makes flavored "sipping vodkas" that are
designed to win over even those who are not fans of straight spirits. Their products come in eight flavors, which include Black Truffle, Candied Ginger,
Celery Peppercorn, Chocolate Orange and Tea. Celery Peppercorn is described as "the ultimate power drink,"
while the Black Truffle has scents of port, rich soil, pineapple and chocolate.
The vodkas are available online, as well as in select bars and restaurants in Southern California and Las Vegas. Available in both 375mL and 750mL, most bottles are priced at $24.99 for the smaller bottles and $37.99 for the larger, though the Black Truffle vodka retails at $29.99 and $49.99.
