The Flying Luxury Hotel

The Aerocraft resembles a blimp but we like the name "flying luxury hotel". The two-football-fields-long airship hasn't reached the prototype stage yet but one might be ready by 2010. The hotel in the sky has a range of several thousand miles with an estimated top speed of 174 mph. The interior might include luxury rooms, restaurants, and a casino. Several cruise ship companies have expressed interest in the project. Capacity is limited to 250 passengers. I like the flying hotel concept but the traveling speed suggests the flying adventure is more important than the destination.

Could A Blimp Be The Future Of Flight?

This strange object is the Dynalifter. Aero-News Network reports on the airship that is part blimp, part ultralight plane. The 120-foot Dynalifter prototype has a nylon cover over a patented interior structure and carries 16,500 cubic feet of helium and is powered by two small ultralight engines. The entrepreneurs working on the aircraft plan to develop a 990-foot freighter which could be used for freight hauling and could have defense and emergency applications. The company says that smaller Dynalifters could also work for personal flight because the craft is easy to operate and affordable. The craft still has many tests to go and is in the experimental stage.
