They're Marlos ten Bhömer's shoe designs, and although they remind me of that song from The Headless Horseman about Icabod Crane, apparently they're gaining critical acclaim from experts around the world.
'Refusing to let functionality get in the way of exploration,' these shoe designs are more about artistic expression than they are about real life footwear -- they've even been displayed in museums.
