Jesse Metcalfe Lists His Beverly Hills Post Office Area Home

jesse metcalfeJesse Metcalfe is moving on. The former Desperate Housewives star bought his home in the Beverly Hills Post Office area in 2007. The Real Estalker reveals that Metcalfe paid $2.2 million for the three-bedroom home. The Mediterranean style property was built in 1999 and the listing terms it a sexy and hip home. The lot is of modest size but it does have a nice private backyard with water features and a stone hot tub perched high up a hill behind the house. The property also includes a full size guest cottage up the same hill.

The living room has a stone fireplace, French doors, hardwood floors and is currently outfitted with a Persian rug and a piano. Although only in his early 30s, Metcalfe has owned at least three houses in the Los Angeles area and made a modest profit on the two he sold in 2008 and 2006. That probably won't be the case here, his home is listed at $2.2 million, exactly what he paid for it.

Linda Evans In Beverly Hills, Estate of the Day

linda evansActress Linda Evans, best known for her turn on Dynasty as Krystle Carrington, has decided to put Beverly Hills in her rearview mirror. The LA Times reports that she has listed her house in the Beverly Hills Post Office area. Evans has stayed away from acting in recent years and is living in Washington to be nearer spiritual guide JZ Knight who channels the spirit Ramtha. In 2009 she won a British version of Hells' Kitchen, gaining the approval of chef Marco Pierre White.

The home is a one-story ranch-style charmer built in 1937. Property records don't reveal when Evans bought the home but it looks like it was some time ago. The home is on half an acre that includes a swimming pool and a rose garden. The four-bedroom main house has hardwood floors, wood beamed ceilings and a country casual style. It includes a large living room with a fireplace, a family room with a bar, and a master suite with a fireplace and two bathrooms. The property also has a detached guest unit. It is listed at $3.295 million.

Jeff Margolis in Beverly Hills Post Office, Estate of the Day

Director-producer Jeff Margolis has directed a lot of awards show and even won an Emmy for his work on the 1995 Academy Awards. His home in the Beverly Hills Post Office area seems like the type of home that many movie stars might find comfortable. The 1927 Spanish style home has five bedrooms in over 5,200 square feet. The home has open-beam ceilings and large rooms with hardwood floors. The best room in the house might be the wood-paneled office/library/media room with home theater equipemnt that includes projection & THX Surround Sound. The home also has a fantastic kitchen, it's a little smaller than the kitchens in some of the homes in the area but it has a sense of real warmth and conviviality that seems to be missing from many newer homes. The master bedroom has an open pitched ceiling and the large bathroom has double closets. Outside there is a yard with a fenced-in pool and a basketball court. This home is listed at $3.495 million.

Janice Place, Estate of the Day

Adrian Rudomin (who is also a director) created this stunning home in the Beverly Hills Post Office area. The expansive 10,000 square foot home has eight bedrooms and a large open living/dining space with ceilings that stretch up over 30 feet.

Property records show that Rudomin bought the home in $2.63 million. The records show the house dating back to 1966 so Rudomin may have torn down the older home to create this contemporary palace. The ultra-modern home has a sauna/steam room, gourmet kitchen, an amazing wood master suite, library and a movie theater. What could have been a cold, modern palace is softened a bit by all that polished wood; it would have quite a different feel with polished concrete floors. The celeb-centric paintings in the home are by Daniel Maltzman. Outside there is a pool and spa and stairs that lead to a separate ceiling deck for even more impressive views. For a video tour check out LXTV. This amazing home is listed at $9.95 million.

Beverly D'Angelo in Beverly Hills, Estate of the Day

The Real Estalker mentioned this one last week but I'm jumping on it now that the LA Times Hot Property revealed that it is officially listed for sale. D'angelo put this home up for sale earlier this year quietly for $2.569,800 after she bought Dan Aykroyd's maybe haunted home that had been owned by both Big Mama Cass and Ringo Starr at different times. No ghosts that we know of in D'Angelo's home but it does have some lovely bones (rather like the lady who owns it). The 1920s Mediterranean in the Beverly Hills Post Office area was bought by D'Angelo in 2005 for $2.35 million. The five-bedroom home has a sweeping staircase, wood floors, arched doorways and charming tile details. One of the bathrooms has been giving a jarring modern makeover but the others retain their aging charm. The kitchen is rather blandly white with an unappealing tile design over the stove. The property includes a pool and a two-car garage that has been converted into office space and the maid's quarters have a private entrance. The property is listed at $2.185 million, less than she paid three years ago, so it seems she's more than ready to say goodbye to the old homestead.

Britney Spears Puts Her Home Back On The Market

For at least the third time in the past year and a half since she bought the home, Britney Spears's six-bedroom home in the gated Summit community in the Beverly Hills post office area is back on the market. This time the faux Tuscan home is listed at $7.9 million, the highest we've seen it at (Spears bought for $6.75 million when it was on the market for $7.2 million). She picked up the home furniture and all so the listing pics aren't too much different from the ones back in 2006 (except for the addition of a kid's play area in the front yard. Rumor has it that she is headed to Calabasas where the paparazzi are a little less invasive. The property website is here.

UPDATE: Britney has reduced the price to $7.195 million.

Mr. Paris's Pad, Estate of the Day

Ah to be young, rich and impossibly foolish. The Real Estalker Mama alerted us to the fact that Paris Latsis, known best here in the states as Mr. Paris the erstwhile fiance of one Paris Hilton, has put his home in the Beverly Hills Post Office area on the market for $15 million. Mr. Paris is part of the Latsis family, a Greek shipping family.

The five-bedroom home is over 7,000 square feet of modern showiness with big glass windows, a floating steel and glass staircase and a master suite with 180-degree views. Everything is designed to make an impression. It's a big show-off of a house done up in young Hollywood pop style with brightly colored art work (including the sadly ubiquitous Marilyn Monroe). The infinity pool and spa is perched on the side of a hill for a big splashy place to tempt saline-inflated starlets.

Mr. Paris bought the home on Beverly Crest Drive for $9.2 million in 2006 so he's looking for a big return in a not-so-firm market. It's a beautiful home despite that it looks like Latsis and his minions went to HD Buttercup and ordered up the Hollywood douchebag collection (it's not so much the furniture itself, which I like, it's just that it seems as if he ordered it all at once and threw it in). I'm smitten with all the glass and love the skylights. And while the stainless steel appliances in the kitchen are a little much who can resist an entire wall of food and beverage options.
