Bethany Beach, Estate of the Day

A friend tipped me off to today's home, a large oceanfront expanse in a place I might have ignored. It's not often that I cover Delaware homes even though the small state offers some nice opportunities for gorgeous oceanfront. Today's home in the Bethany Beach area is sheltered by a large dune and has a steel-encased structure and hurricane shutters to protect it. The home sits on two acres of prime beachfront and has an expansive network of Brazilian hardwood decks and verandas for enjoying the tranquility of your beach. It has eight bedrooms, a Finished in 2004 to withstand the strongest storms, this steel-encased structure, with its hurricane shuttered frontage and terracotta tile roof, a 50' Great Room, bar, billiard room, den with home theater, playroom, and a hot tub on the roof deck. A three-bedrooms guest cottage is connected by walkway to the main home. Yesterday's house was brilliantly staged, today's looks to be staged too but not nearly as well. The furnishings seems to float randomly in the home. TThe home's finishes don't exactly either wow me (the haphazard furnishings don't help) but the location is beautiful. It is listed at $10 million. After the jump, a house in need of a personality.
